Is anyone besides me afraid of taking the shot? I keep thinking I’ll be the one in 1 million that will get a blood clot from it or something worse.

I think the blood clots are only from the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, but I haven't gotten my shot either. I keep thinking I should get it because I am worried about getting the virus too, but I haven't mustered up the courage to get it yet. I keep thinking what if they find out something bad in a year or 2! I will worry if I get it and worry if I don't get it. I think a lot of people feel that way, though. A lot of people haven't gotten it yet because of concerns about it.

Yea, I even heard of people getting symptoms from the other ones too, like seizures and trembling and even death. I just can’t bring myself to get it. Then I got a jury duty through the mail, so I am being forced into a crowded situation where I might risk getting it. Very frustrating. They’ve been walking around our neighborhood knocking on our doors asking us to get the shot too. I wish the government would stop pestering me.

Wow really? Yeah they are really pushing it where I live too. They are giving away money, kind of like a lottery, every week to people who have gotten the vaccine as an incentive for other people to get it too. They sure are pressuring people. I'm not an anti-vaccine person, but I mean some people are afraid to get it and it feels like they are really putting pressure on everyone.

You must live in California because that’s where I live and they’re doing lotteries to get people shots LOL. And yes they’re knocking on my door and texting me on my phone to get the shot.

There are obviously going to be some side effects. As your body has to build up antibodies. Might feel off for a few days. Just pop a few tablets, like you normally would at such times for a headache or the flu and you should be able to manage it. Is a real fear with a lot of people. The more people know about something the worse it can be at times.

I got my vaccination the first shot I just ended up with a sore arm with the second my immune system kicked in and started fighting it! I ended up with 102ish temp, body aches and a sore arm again this time it had a big red circle around it. Fever and body aches lasted around 12 hours overall it wasn't horrible, I've felt worse before now I feel a little more confident but I'm sure trying to play it safe.

I live in Washington. I haven't had anyone texting me or coming to my door yet thank goodness. That's a little overboard in my opinion.
I had the flu a few years ago and it was terrible, so I don't want to get Covid, but I don't necessarily want to get forced to take a vaccine until I'm ready either.

Yikes...that has not happened here in my state but wouldn’t be at all surprised if it does. Giveaways, constant ads, guilt trip speeches by politicians....all day, every day. Sick of it to be honest and will not change my mind. I won’t say “never say never” but I won’t be getting jabbed anytime soon. I’m still working from home with no indication of when I will return to the office. I wouldn’t be shocked if my employer mandates it in order to return. Not sure what I will do if that is the case.

Yeah there are schools here now that are requiring it for students to return, and I'm sure that's just the beginning. I may decide to get the vaccine, but the thought of being forced to is crazy to me. My husband disagrees with me. He thinks it's the only way to get rid of the virus, and I get that, but I think people are confused with all the mixed information over the past year and how quickly the vaccine was made. It's probably fine but it's understandable to me that some people would want to wait a bit.

We are in Wyoming where the overall attitude is "We don't need no stinking vaccine." Of course we get the guilt trip commercials. I won't personally get the vaccine just because we don't even know what the potential side effects could be but that's a personal choice and I would never pick on anyone who chose to get it. I think that should go both ways. I know people who have gotten it with few adverse side effects and I know people who have gotten COVID who equated it to a bad cold or flu and even some with no symptoms. There is just so much we don't know both ways.

Agree with you. But my attitude in my state is the opposite. Let’s just say I am not a fan of the governor and his way of doing things. He would literally go door to door and force it on people if he could. My company has said they are waiting for “guidance” from the state which makes me think all the more that they will mandate it to return to the office.

My daughter works at Domino's and was just told that they will stop making people wear masks now unless they can show they have been vaccinated. At least the have an option. For now.

I was a bit anxious before taking the shot. I couldn't eat my food the day before. You're going to be just fine! Don't stress it.

I am too scared to take the shot. My daughter is 16 and they had a big discussion in school about it and she begged me not to force her to take it. She is scared about side effects down the road. I cant blame her because I am too!! I always get my kids vaccinated as well as myself, but this one just scares me. I have actually had covid. I couldn't smell and was congested a little bit. She had it as well. She had a dry cough and couldn't smell. We both already have the antibodies so I'm not worried about getting the shot for that reason also. I am going to get my son tested for antibodies at his yearly check up.

Question is how long do the antibodies protect someone after having COVID? I believe that’s still an unknown. You and your family have every right to make the decision you feel right. For me, it’s like 99% confidence getting the shots err the medically right thing to do, and yes that 1% doubt, the good old “what if” that does loom.

We just have to take a stand, make a decision and proceed. There’s nothing to it but to do it.

How long are you protected against the virus with the shot? That is still unknown as well. I agree it is a personal decision and everyone has the right to make it based on research and beliefs.
