Yeah, I managed to get between 3 and 4 hours of sleep. Not enough, but something. Unfortunately, the waiting for today has just started....waited for admissions...now sitting in a waiting room for surgery...gonna be a long day. :( I was good until about 10 minutes ago, when the panic started setting in. Ready to be knocked unconscious lol

Just remember you will be knocked out relatively soon and will wake up and heading towards walking and yogaing pain-free in a short time. Your quality of life, at least physically will be so much better. You've done a great job getting to this point so try to relax and complain about the magazines they have available in the waiting rooms.

It's morning. But when you wrote at 12:00 last night it was 11:00 here. There is one hrs. difference between us. I'm hoping your surgery is over or is going well. Let us know how you are when you can. Will be waiting to hear.

That's good advice gave her Triceps. I hope all goes well. Been thinking of her all night. Hope you are okay. My anxiety is up and don't know why. I guess it doesn't have to have a reason.. Hope the rest of the day goes better. You have a good day too.

Hi Rosy. I'm doing pretty good for the moment. I was concerned about our orthopedic patient all night also. Rosy, I think you're going to have trouble having an extended time without anxiety until you get your stomach fixed. I hope that anxiety settles down for you today.

I think maybe you are right. Even though I try not to think about it it is still in the back of my mind. Something has to be done someday. And I am getting older. lol Now my sinuses are bothering me. Always something. I hope you have a good day.

Rosy, we can only afford to have one person with nasal congestion problems at a time on this forum. So quit your bellyaching and take a sudafed.:) You know I'm just kidding. We're both too old to afford to get sick. Hope that sinus problem clears up immediately.

Okay, I'll tell my sinuses Triceps doesn't allow them to bother me. lol lol I'll have to take sudafed. That really helps. You made me laugh and that helped my anxiety. Thank you. I needed that laugh. lol Let me know if you hear from Hurt&Hopeful and I'll do the same.

Oh no!!! I hope you guys didn't lose sleep over me lol. Last thing you need is something else to worry about, right? I am home and fine. The surgery itself went great - I'll spare you gory details, but I have a new ACL, the we're able to save/repair meniscus, and smooth the damaged bone to prevent further damage. All in all a success. I had a really hard time pre-op, though. They took me back there alone to dress and get prepped, and I just broke down pretty early on when I saw the bed, the tubes, the machines. They couldn't find a good vein for an IV, so it took two nurses and an anesthesiologist to finally get one in, halfway up my arm (which hurts). Tried hands and wrists first - I just have really bad veins. So that whole poking and digging process really sent me over the edge. It was just so embarrassing - a 40 year old woman who can't handle an IV. (Keep in mind that I've GIVEN BIRTH - ha!) They almost had to put my surgery off, which would have been much worse. But they eventually got it in and immediately filled me with benzos. :D

So beyond shaking violently and crying, everything went great hahahaha. It's done. That's all that matters....

Hurt&Hopeful, don't even think about the pre op. All is over and done and okay. Believe me They are used to patients being like us. lol Anyone would be anxious. So so glad you are okay. Triceps and I thought of you all day. Now rehab for the knee begins. That will keep you busy. Get some good rest and try to relax.

Thank you!!! I can't believe it's over!!! I don't even care about how much pain I'm in (which is plenty) - the anxiety is much more manageable....you guys are the best. I'm thankful for your support this week.

It's good to have someone rooting for you. I am just so glad you are over the surgery. You sound fine. Once the initial pain is gone you will feel better to.. I'm hoping you have a good night. Sweet dreams.

Yeah, the pain and swelling are pretty strong - I have alarms set to do ice and medicine, so tonight will probably be a long one, but the painkillers also knock me out, so that's good. I know this part will only last a few days, and then it should be easier....one day at a time, right? I made it through last week, and I'll make it through this one.

You sure will make it through the week. At least the pain meds are helping. Ice is good for swelling. I use ice on my back for sciatica. You have a good outlook on this. That is what you need. It'll go easier with your good attitude. So glad it is over and you're on the mend.

So sorry about sciatica! That's so painful....and yes, I am supposed to do ice for 20 minutes of every hour. My husband has it all mapped out, military style.
