I am so happy to have found this site, with others that struggle with anxiety. I have struggled for many years with Health Anxiety, which had improved until Coronavirus hit. For the last week, I have been having chest tightness (when I take a deep breath) along with an occasional cough. I check my temperature multiple times a day and have had no fever. My husband is an EMT and I have been having him listen to my lung sounds which he thinks sound clear and my pulse oximetry has been at 99%. The thing I can't get past is the tightness in my chest, my husband thinks it's just anxiety, but I'm not sure. I am just looking for some reassurance...

Hello chest tightness or chest pain is normal symptom of anxiety. Also acid reflux can make you cough and cause chest tightness. When your husband said you are fine you are actually fine. Just try to relax.

Hey there! You sound a lot like me...I started having chest tightness in March, I thought I was having a heart attack, had my first full blown panic attack..anyway, I'm still alive, my chest pains went away, and then returned few days ago, right in the middle of my sternum, and sometimes I wonder if I'm breathing well, I also have an oxy pulsometer and all is fine, no fever...I would say it's anxiety and stress, which is all very normal given the circumstances. I'm constantly checking myself and reading about this horrible virus and that is taking its toll!
