Possible bat bite, scared of rabies.

Hi guys, so i will cut to the chase. It was 5:30 P.M. and it was still very cloudy and very much light outside. I was in my friend's car chatting with him and decided to get out of the car and while getting out i felt my hair on top of my head getting pulled or touching something.

Now my first initial thought was that i touched the roof of the car while getting out and my hair brushed against it. My stupid rabies side is telling me there was a bat on top of the car and it came and bit me on top of my head. I have never seen a bat in real life and i did not see or hear or feel a bat while this happened. Thank you

My county is known to have rabid bats but my city fortunately does not see bats. Is this something to worry about or another rabies ocd? Thank you, and this is not a joke, I am truly worried.

I am sure this is another of those Mr. Anxiety's tricks. The chances of what you describe as happening is about as possible as you wining the Lottery! Our minds in anxiety always tend to the negative. No, it is not a joke, far from it. Nothing in anxiety is funny or a joke, but at the same time we should not take ourselves too seriously. Most of us have vivid imaginations, and that does not help at all.
We tend to make something out of nothing, but that something can seem so real. It's the reality of the illusion that worries us. Now that is another of those paradoxes in anxiety. Illusions can seem real to a sufferer. The one thing we don't seem able to grasp is the normality of how we feel IN THE CIRCUMSTANCES. Fear will create anxiety, that is a fact. Fear causes our body to react in certain ways, which to us may be alarming but are normal reactions to fear. If we can accept that and try not to react to every negative event we will be well on our way.
