Panicking

Of course I am but here's why. Guess I was sleeping. Then saliva must have been in my mouth. With anxiety I usually wake up in panic, take a deep breath in. I think that happened to me without me even being much aware of it. Next thing I know instead of sleeping I'm panicking and coughing profusely. I know that somehow I must've inhaled that spit. Still currently coughing and spitting uo. It just feels like it went in my lungs and it scares me so much. I mean is this something I should go to a doctor about, ER? I don't want to have it in my lungs or have anything stay there. All these thoughts are running in my head now and I'm trying to stay calm about it. Literally now I'm just constantly trying to hauck up everything because it doesn't feel like I got everything.
Update my grandma or mom won't take me to the doctor so now? I feel worse and I'm panicking more.

Update. I dunno. I still feel terrible about all of this and being alone doesn't help very much at all.

It probably feels like it's in your lungs but that's happened to me before and you're okay. I promise you. The coughing is productive. I'm choked on my own spit so many times, I'd be dead right now if you could aspirate on it. Trust me, you're okay. I know it's scary but you're okay.

You'll be focusing on it a lot, keep your mind busy and you won't even notice. I get like that a lot with twitching, when I'm anxious and fixating on it, it happens loads. When I'm busy watching a video or working etc, never even notice it. You'll be okay <3 let's keep your mind off it, why don't you watch something on YouTube?? You got any favourite people on there? I love these 2 people called Robert and James Welsh, they do skincare and makeup stuff, they're fab.

I'm watching Americas next top model now. I do try to distract myself. Hoping it works alright. Trying to not focus on it. Doesn't help that I was eating cornbread and it almost went down the wrong pipe.

People inhale a bit of saliva or other liquids all the time. Food goes down the "wrong pipe" all the time. It's almost never anything to worry about as far as I know. I know of horror stories, but as many times as I've done it myself it's never caused a problem. Coughing is a natural response to foreign things in the lungs, and in the absence of disease the lungs can rather easily expel those foreign substances.

I loveeee the videos Brad Mondo does talking about the makeovers from ANTM, the old seasons are so crazy, haha. After eating some stuff I get this really weird thick feeling in my throat, it's just the effect your food has on your saliva, it can make it thicker etc. Try your hardest to argue with the part of your brain that tells you to panic. Sounds silly, promise it works! I'll sometimes be sitting and panic about a twitch in my eye for example, convince myself it's a tumour or some neurological disease, but then I'll be like stfu, you've drank a redbull and had 4 hours sleep, stop being a dummy, haha. Takes a while, but now that other voice wins a whole lot more <3

Update on this. It just happened again but I'm trying to limit postings. I just ate garlic bread. Ya know when something has a lot of crumbs and you inhale it before you start chewing? That happened and now of course anxiety is coming on because of it. I wanna eat ice cream right now because no more crumble. However I worry because it was small and what if I didn't get it all? Even though I coughed pretty hard.

It's still harmless. We've all inhaled crap we're not supposed to inhale, many times during life. It happens.

I guess so. Its just that that plus my chronic shortness of breath due to anxiety.. not a good mix.

This happens when anything goes against your breath. In other words, if you drank water and some went down far too fast. Natural reaction is to cough. Same with anything else. Food goes down too quickly. We cough. Nothing unusual about it. Happens to everybody.

Irrational as it might be, ask yourself the same question. Would anybody have any reason to poison you?
