Husband has covid

So my husband was exposed at work, and this morning tested positive for covid. We are the most careful people there are. I never leave the house, neither does my daughter. My mom only goes to the store. We always wear masks. Always.

His job requires masks to walk in, fill out a form, temp check. Air purifiers. That’s where he got it.

My health anxiety is through the roof. I already have in my head that I’m going to catch it and die and leave my daughter without a mother. I can’t think straight.

Sorry to hear about your husband. I can understand your own concern for yourself. Would all depemd on how long your husband has it for before testing positive. you can have for 12 to 14 days without knowing you have it. From there it would be about how much contact you have had with your husand. Which was probably a lot. That is not saying you have to have it. But as you will be a close contact, you will probably have to be tested. As will others in your house.

Worth adding in that only a small few people actually die from it. By that I mean if you take the population of any country. Those who have died from it were either old or had some form of illness already. Heart problems, lung problems, those sorts of things. Majority of people didn't even need to stay in a hospital. They remained at home.

You will need to be tested if your husband does have it. No escaping that part.

We definitely all are getting tested. Probably tomorrow, and again in a few days just to make sure.

My anxiety is just through the roof right now.

My husband stayed asymptomatic, thank goodness and we all tested negativemultiple times within the following few weeks! I honestly think I owe this all to my anxiety. The day he came home and told me the guy he worked with the day before had covid, I made him mask up. He wasn’t even allowed to talk while he was eating with us. He put his mask up while talking at the dinner table. Only 4 days after exposure was when he tested positive, and we quarantined him. I truly believe that if I wasn’t so strict about him masking up at home before testing positive, we all would’ve gotten it!
