Cuchculan is right, the throat tightness is definitely a psychosomatic response if you’re only experiencing it when your mind isn’t otherwise engaged. My anxiety gets worse at night too, so I totally feel that and it sucks! If your mind is glued to your body, notice something like your toes. If you can get your mind away from your body, notice other things in your surroundings, make a sort of game of it to fall asleep if you have to.

The dry throat is back after having a blocked nose. I am worried as the news said they are adding flu symptoms to it throat runny nose ect basically everything is COVID. My local bus depot had a covid outbreak 8 positive 56 waiting for results so I was on a bus a few days ago a couple so my worry is I could catch it from the bus? It’s strange as at the moment I hear about more outbreaks but cases in scotland around 800 lowest since the autumn yet I hear of more COVID what’s going on? There was an outbreak at a restaurant my mum goes to for a takeaway so maybe she spread it to me if I seen her outside?

As long as it is out there people will always think they feel some effects of it. It is all over the news. Not a story you can avoid hearing. Easy to put ideas in your head. Just keep doing the right things the right way and you will be fine.

I wish it could go away I mean I wish I could get through this and COVID won’t be on the news anymore or it will maybe become like flu less news but right now that’s not happening it’s awful.

Every time I feel a twitch in my throat I worry I have COVID. I can’t win getting COVID would be awful and also getting vaccine and side effects would be too. How will I get through this?

Think most people have assumed they had one side effect or another of Covid so far. Just because they know it is out there. I have had a dried throat more often than not. We are just so used to hearing the side effects / symptoms. What to look out for. That we begin to imagine things. It is pushed down out throats 24/7 by the news. So try and ignore the news.

It will always be a worry until it is all over with. The thought we might catch it in the shops. On a train. You name it. The fear will always be there.

Things might pan out that way. It is up to each work place. Or it will be. But everything can be challenged. I am sure people will challenge things in court. The current vaccines do not get rid of Covid. until they come up with a vaccine that wipes Covid out none of this stuff from the newspapers or media matters at all.

Tonight I had a sore feeling come on at the back of my throat. These sort of things make me paranoid every day I have COVID. Being honest multiple times a week I worry I have COVID?

I’ve had a conjested throat for like 4 weeks or more but it seems worse after eating hot food and burning my mouth could that be a trigger? Also I say next to a heater all day someone said that too? I don’t have a temperate loss of taste it cough but I am always so worried about having covid does anyone else worry?

I think we have all had those days were we thought ' this is it '. Mainly because it is out there and has been around so long. From the coughs to the dry throats. Which I always blamed on the face masks. Breathing in stale air.

I’ve had the throat issue on and off since December I imagine COVID wouldn’t last that long? Sometimes feels congestion or clogged or when I breathe I feel a slight tickle? I’ve not tried to gargle hot water or anything yet. Problem is it causes me panic attacks I am really struggling with panic attacks I worry I can’t breathe or im some how dying of COVID? Often when I stop worrying the symptom becomes less prominent or goes away?

You are fine. Just the mind working over time. Once it gets an idea it holds onto it and messes with your head. I am sure loads of other people assumed they had Covid too. Simply because it is all over the news.

One of my symptoms is I feel very aware of my breathing and often get a chest strain is this normal with anxiety? I worry I am not breathing correctly? I am sick worrying about COVID too I think that may be a trigger?

You are aware of the symptoms of Covid. One of which is all about breathing. So you are focused on your breathing a bit too much. Breathing the wrong way is also a symptom of anxiety. Covid has put thoughts in your head.
