Hi all ,

Been awhile since I've posted , things are going ok lately but I have a lump on my upper thigh that the doctor wants an ultrasound to investigate . I'm so anxious about it , trying not to go to the " what ifs " etc . I did Google, that was a big mistake . I'll be a nervous wreck til I hear the results. Wish the wheels of health care rolled a little faster , waiting is tortuous.

What sort of lump? Most lumps are benign, as far as I know. I have several lipomas (benign fatty tumors) in various places, including my thighs. It happens. Sorry you're anxious, I do understand but I think you'll be fine.

It's sort of a little oval mound type lump , right below the crease where the top of your thigh is . Can't tell if it's movable , like Google keeps saying lol . Freaking me out of course . Don't think it's a lipoma but what do I know ? I'm hoping the " most are benign " situation applies to me . Trying to just focus on Christmas prep and enjoy the season but you all know how difficult that can be when in anxiety . I'll let you know when I get the results.

Please do let us know how it goes. I think (and hope) all is well though. Not all lipomas are movable, it just depends on location and other factors. Some of mine aren't very movable at all. There is no rule for what a lipoma feels like, just a typical description.

Like Bin_Tenn said, it's most likely a non benign lump. I had a lump on the inside of my elbow a few years ago, along with a pinched nerve in my shoulder, my doctor sent me for an ultrasound on the lump and to a physiotherapist for the shoulder.
My Physiotherapist thought it was caused from fluid from the over use injury in my shoulder, ultrasound results came back normal, and over time the lump disappeared.. never did find out exactly what it was though lol
Let us know how everything goes

Still waiting for the ultrasound results arrrgg . Out health care system is going thru a revamp to a new computerized system to create better care etc so they tell me to be patient ....I'm not patient lol . The imagination can create scary scenarios while waiting this long .

I would be anxious too. I think you will be OK. Around 15 years I developed a lump on my right thigh. It continued to grow and became painful. Then out of nowhere a second lump began to grow next to the other one. I called the lumps brothers and they were big. I went to see a general surgeon who thought they were Lipomas. He scheduled me for outpatient surgery at the hospital. He numbed the area and I was awake. He removed them and showed them to me and said, yep, they are Lipomas. I left and never heard from the brothers again.

My doctors office called me about results for ultrasound lump , SHE suspects a benign lipoma but she's sending me for an MRI . Now I have to wait for a call for an appointment ugh. Obviously the MRI request has me thinking in a whole different direction . Would they really request that if they suspect benign lipoma ? So scared !

I know that it's normal to be nervous and apprehensive to worry about a test to further investigate a lump , everyone would . But I get so physically sick with the anxiety . So many gastro symptoms, nausea sore stomach , cramps ect . That's how my anxiety presents . That's what gets me down . Makes me depressed. It impacts my daily life . I use some meds to alleviate the symptoms but it won't " fix " the problem. I need to fix the anxiety . I'm not a huggy person but I needed that hug Sweet T . Thank you !

Around 15 years or so years ago I was getting burning pain in my back everytime I ate. The pain radiated to my right side sometimes. I was nervous and went to a GI physician. They did an MRI and chest xray and found nothing. They checked my gall bladder and found nothing. The pain and burning persisted and I was getting nervous. They then ordered an EGD and found an ulcer in my lower esophagus. They put me on Prilosec and did another EGD six weeks later and the ulcer healed. Odds are you are OK, but don't be too hard on yourself for being nervous as most people would be nervous in your situation too.

This is me too! I can’t eat and I get stomach issues when I have anxiety. Headaches too. This leads me to isolate so that doesn’t help my issue. It’s frustrating. Plus my family doesn’t understand that when I’m like this, I don’t want to go out for fear I will need to make a run for the bathroom. More anxiety right?
