I’d been doing well but have a minor procedure (diaphragm dislodged and needs to be removed) coming up on oct. 29. I’m so scared to go under because my blood pressure has been elevated (125/80) and I don’t want to die on the table. Procedure is only 15 min. But I’m a single mom with 2 kids with no one to take care of them if anything happens to be so I’m freaking out! When my gyn calls for the pre-op call I’ll share my concerns with him about the pre-hypertension and anesthesia but until that date I’m doing to be so scared and worried!

That’s not elevated at all. I had an endoscopy done in February and my blood pressure was 146/95 and I went under anesthesia and was totally fine. 125/80 is almost a perfect reading!

I can totally understand that you are worrying because you are a single mom, thinking about your kids. But you will be fine, they would never risk using anesthesia if they think that it will be dangerous.
I mean my grandma got an operation with high blood pressure. They manage these things well and they can always medicate you before if it's needed. But they will not risk it :)

Your blood pressure is perfectly normal. They will check you before you go under and if it is too high they won't proceed. I went under anesthesia a couple years ago and beforehand it was somewhere around 170 over 80, they went ahead with the surgery and there was no problem. I know you are worried about this but at 125/80 there really isn't anything to worry about.
