Tricking, the best sport EVER.
So what is this sport? Tricking you could say is a mix of multiple sports such as, gymnastics, martial arts, break dance and capoeira. So basically what we "trickers" do, is flips, twists, kicks and roll around on the floor like a maniac :D
Tricking is performed where ever you want to, it is free to trick if you don't have money because you can do it anywhere as long as you have a relatively open space!
We train mostly on spring floors like gymnasts, but also grass is very viable. But we also do trick on sand, hard wooden floor or even concrete!
One of the things that makes this sport the best sport, is that every tricker has their own style of tricks. This makes your "Tricking identity". Which is so cool because if you compare gymnasts, they all do the same tricks with the same technique. It is very boring and repetitive. In tricking, EVERYONE is different. You can do whatever tricks you want, however you want.

The sport grew from capoeira in the 90's and quickly became it's own little sport in the 2000's. So this is a very new, young and unexplored sport that barely anyone knows about.. Sadly.
The sport is so small that whenever you become more intermediate at the sport you can't even find coaches. Most of us are self taught like myself.
So how do we teach each other tricking? We take videos. We film everything we do and compare it to others, we try to find what techniques works for us and what we like the most. Another reason this sport is so good, is the way we practice. We call our training's "Sessions". And this means that we gathering all trickers from the area and we go to our spot where we usually trick at, and we blast hype music and do crazy tricks with each other.
This leads me to the next part about our amazing sport. Gatherings! Gatherings are like sessions but more! We gather people form all around the world no matter where you live, we go and have sessions together and blast music and everyone is welcome! We do a lot of fun activities and challenges and also this is where our competitions take place.

The competitions usually consists of 1 versus 1, each person has usually 3 passes and whoever makes the best trick or combo wins the round and moves on to the next round. We call these competitions "battles". Sometimes we even do team battles, where you gather up a team and battle each other, very fun and chaotic! What decides who wins? We have multiple judges that consists of experiences trickers that will decide the winner based on style, execution, power, flow and all round how hard of a trick or combo the person is doing. There is no point system in this like gymnastics because there are so many thousands of tricks you can do and combine in an INFINITE amount, and you can always make it harder. You can NEVER run out of things to do in tricking, there will always be something more and harder to do.

So because of sessions and gatherings we have a lot of love and friendship within this sport. Everyone is so close friends and it is the best feeling ever. Everyone is so nice and always welcome.

Our communication in this sport is mostly based on Instagram, we film our tricks and post them on Instagram and share our tricks. But we also use Youtube, vlogging is not very big for tricking, but we do have a thing called "Samplers"
Samplers are like a compilation of our best tricks put together. But that's not all too it with samplers. Samplers is our way of sharing our tricking identity, the way we film and what tricks we do, the music we use and how we edit the videos. The B-rolls and friendship from gatherings are shown. Tricking is more than just a sport, it is a lifestyle, it is a culture!
We do it "For The Culture".

If you have any questions just let me know, I most likely missed a lot of stuff.
Sorry if my English isn't the best :) :D

You see the icon that looks like a paperclip? That is for links. If on you tube post like a normal video. That will be the icon next to the one that looks like a paperclip.

That sure is something else. I would be struggling to tie up my shoe laces, never mind do all those flips and kicks and what not. Fair play to you.

Reminds me of something you see in Brazil. Capoeira. Is like all those spinning type of kicks. I know they have mixed it with dance over the years.

Tricking comes originally from capoeira actually! But has developed a lot through the years. It started it's own sport only in the early 2000's year.
Very new sport.

It all comes down to practice :D

Practice makes perfect.
Not really, but it comes closer to perfection. Perfection is impossible to reach. There is no such thing as perfect. Even though we use the word a lot.
Practice makes improvement. But it requires more than practice to get the most progress.
