Weird palpitations

There has been a period of my life where I had palpitations every few seconds. My heart would "skip a beat", followed up by a bigger thump. Fast forward 3 weeks, saw a doctor, hooked up to machines, nothing was up. And then the palpitations faded.
I still have some palpitations every few week or so, but mild. But today I had a few really weird ones... They "thump" up to my throat, tickling my throat a bit, making me want to cough, and it was almost like a hiccup. Any idea what this is? Is it normal?

Hi Kelculator. I sure wouldn't say that the sensation you're feeling is normal. I think it just shows how creative the sensations can be that anxiety can cause. We freak out from some of these sensations but I would think back to the normal EKG even though you felt the "skip a beat, bigger thump" sensation. This new feeling is just a variation of the first one, in my non-medical opinion.

I would agree with @triceps that anxiety can get pretty creative in coming up with freaky new symptoms for us lol. This definitely sounds like anxiety is behind it.

Also sorry this reply is super late lol I hadn’t been on here in weeks and was reading through old posts.
