This isn't a worry but question regarding weight loss...im a competitive strength athlete and for a long time was over 400 pounds. I injured myself and when in pain or stressed i could not eat, i lost a lot of weight, then started eating better, and lost more. I could not convince myself it was because of not eating as much and changing things, and it caused a really bad time for me. In fact i was so nervous to eat what i want, i wouldn't because I was afraid seeing myself not gain weight back would cause more anxiety. I actually weighed myself about a month ago before a contest and was around 10 lbs less then my heaviest last winter and freaked out for a few days.

None the less i have been slacking off on my diet for a little while now. What would be the reason i haven't gained a lot back, i know we settle in a weight for a while but if slacking on my eating why would i not keep going back up and instead stay in in a range?

it's possible you have a high metabolism and just require more calories to put on weight. also possible, you're not taking in nearly as many calories as you think you are. also, depending on the type of weight you're gaining and how much you're still working out, it's possible you have lost muscle and aren't seeing the scale jump much because what you're putting on is fat (muscle weighs more than fat.)

those are just a few potentials...

Thanks for input. I am back training. I went as low as 320 with not much lifting about 2 yrs ago, then slacked on my diet and got stronger as high as 350 last year around this time, but have been staying somewhere 335 to 340 lately.

You just hear of people slacking on diet and immediately gaining back where I don't think I could even if I tried.

What would a reason for that be? Same reasons?

I'm a big guy too... currently sitting at about 285 but have been as high as 400. sometimes, i feel like i can really be an idiot with my eating and drinking and either maintain my either maintain my weight or even lose. other times, i feel like i go off the rails for a few days and gain five pounds. i don't really have any explanation, aside from what i mentioned about. sometimes our bodies are just... weird.

Many with health anxiety run to the docs all the time. I am one who never goes.
Ah. That's not nearly as uncommon as I once thought it was. Many of us never go. The only reason I ever go is for my annual physical, because I'm required to go in order to get a med refill (beta blocker).
