I’ve been having very vivid dreams lately. Doesn’t sound too alarming, right?

I have a 5 month old baby and while I was pregnant, I had crazy vivid dreams for the entire pregnancy. That is very common and hormone related so I never gave it a second thought.

However, now that I am not pregnant, I decided to read about vivid dreams snd what they could be coming from. Would you like to know what I read (amongst a sea of other reasons; but this is what I clung to) SOMETIMES FROM HEART DISEASE OR CANCER.

whyyyyyy did I Google

I've know many people who experience very vivid / wild dreams. Some of them get those dreams pretty often, and others have them less frequently. And they don't have heart disease or cancer.

I have had vivid dreams off and on my entire life and at no point did I have either of those. But I do wonder why almost all those vivid dreams have to be bad ones.

They probably just stick because they can be quite traumatizing. Maybe? I don't know, just grasping at straws here. I personally very rarely ever remember a dream of any kind, or the fact that I dreamed at all. I know I dream, but cannot ever remember it. When I do, the dream was always pretty vivid and/or extremely strange.

Yes. Always pretty strange. Lol
My better half has the strangest dreams ever, all the time, and she always remembers them well. We fell asleep watching Family Guy one night, and she literally dreamed about Peter Griffin doing stupid sh*t...

Honestly, I wish I could do that. The dreams I do remember are often very strange, but never involve video games I play or TV/movies I've watched. Haha.

My favourite subject. Dreams. Since the dawn of time people have been putting their own meaningings on dreams. Hence you will find various answers as to what dreams mean. But the majority of it is all BS. Simple as that. Imagine your brain is like a large computer. every day you take in lots of information. That information has to be sorted out. Things you need to keep and things that you don't need to keep. Or long term memory and short memory. This is done as you sleep. Everything you done during the day will come out in dream form. Most of which you will forget that you ever dreamt of upon wakening up. Then we have latent dream content. This is the BS content of all dreams. It is there to knit a dream into how we dream it. We dream things like a scene. Or an action playing out. We need the latent dream content to add an extra little bit of something to make that scene appear. Or else our dreams would just be a series of images. So far, no real meaning to anything we dream at all.

Other things that come out in dreams is our fears. You have a fear of heights? You might dream you are up somewhere very high. Fears can play a big part in our dreams. Let us say you have something on your mind from the day before. That might also appear in dream form. Because it is on your mind. Another thing that appears often enough would be if we have something coming up. An example might be a hospital appointment. You might have a few dreams about hospitals.

The most beautiful dream type of dream, in my opinion, is lucid dreams. We normally have these either as we are wakening up or just as we are going to sleep. So we are half asleep and half awake. Thus the content of a lucid dream can appear very real. It can really confuse some people. If they wake up they might actually think what they just dreamt of was real. That it did happen to them. If we look back in history, lucid dreams were viewed in certain ways. With would include people saying they had Demons sitting on their chest. That was more to do with the era of the person who wrote about such dreams. Demons was the big thing back then. That would change over the years to Aliens. All these people who clamed Aliens visited them at night. People had moved on from the Demon era and Aliens were all the rage.

If you have a fear or illness, cancer and the heart was mentioned in the OP. You could dream of such things too. That does not mean you have either of those two. It means you might have a fear of those two. Nothing more at all.

Can people dream of the future? It may seem to some that they can. They dream of something. Then an event occurs. It hits them as something they had a dream about. But did they really? Triggers exist when remembering dreams. Even if something is not an exact match, but has something similar to what was in your dream, it may trigger memories of a dream. Say you are walking down the road. A red car drives by. Your mind kicks into play. Everything red that is fresh in your mind. Oh wait. We had the dream the other night that involved something red. There was a car in that dream too. Thus people might either say ' this is deja vu ' or ' I have dreamt about this before '. No they have not. Might have dreamt about something that held part of what you are remembering. You mind is simply throwing bits and pieces back at you. Making you think you have dreamt this or done this before.

And they all lived happily ever after.

Literally everything...even the smallest of things like a hangnail seem to be linked to bad stuff...heart issues, cancer, diabetes in my experience. I went thru a terrible stretch recently because of my constant googling and all the bad stuff I was reading. Been trying hard to avoid it because once I see something...it sticks with me and causes me a great deal of stress.

Well I’ve never been like this before aside from pregnancy so it freaks me out that they’re suddenly so vivid right now when I wasn’t like this in the past

Your dreams being so vivid while you were pregnant were because of your hormones. So you could just be having a slight hormonal imbalance. And stressing about it will further throw that balance out of wack. Cutting carbs, taking some probiotics, and drinking green tea can help get your hormones back to normal. Worth a try!
