well about 10 minutes ago I got tinnitus for the first time I think. I never got this before and I'm scared.

I read that the type of sound I had meant something was wrong with my blood vessels somewhere because it was definitely a whooshing or rushing sound (mixed with a strange thumping) It just came back now as I type this! It seems to happen when I lie down as well.

I can't go to sleep like this and it's annoying. My ears also feel tender and a little... itchy? Somebody screamed in them (not like RIGHT in but very loudly and close by) a few times the other day so I wonder if that's what it's from although I heard if that happens it's usually more of a ringing sound but this is definitely whooshing and a little thumping. So that is what I'm confused about. But now I'm reading it could be a tumor in your neck and all kinds of weird t hings and I'm in panic mode.

This scares me and idk what to do... I know it's a very common thing a lot of ppl go through though.

Hello there, I’m sorry I understand how annoying tinnitus can be. I have it often. I was worried when it first started as well, I went to the doctor. Apparently it’s very common, especially if you have allergies or sinus issues? That can definitely cause it and make it worse. That was my case. But I also found that stress and migraine worsens it as well. Perhaps sleeping with a little white noise, like a fan, could make it less noticeable for you.

Stress does that. Couple years back I went for a month with tinnitus. I was already had an unhealthy amount of HA and this brought it to another level. Once I calmed down it faded away.

I'm having this also but mine is a little ticking in my left ear tick, tick, tick it's not consistent. I've been stressed and this is just adding to it. In the back of my mind I keep thinking something is wrong. I do have the itchy feeling also I went to have my hearing checked last thursday he said my hearing is normal and the ear drums looked good. Did your problem go away? Did you have it checked out?

Be relaxed with it, and speak to your GP about your concerns.
