How is it going Jen?
I have been meditating consistently and I have also been using a Tens device to stimulate my vagus nerve via my ear for two 15 minute sessions per day. So far, it is going very well and I feel a lot of improvement. The meditation is absolutely key for me and I feel that the vagus nerve stuff is surprisingly effective.
Well, I have been really focusing on exercise. I was only able to do 2 minut3s on the treadclimber. Well, I'm up to 4 and I did that for 6 days. Today I added a minute. At 440 I was thinking I can't do this but I made it to 5. After, I had a really hard time getting a good breath in when I was catching my breath. I went into panic mode. Calmed myself down. Afraid I'll be stuck at 4 and never improve. Had some bad news in the family so been trying to process that.

Keep up the exercise! It will really help in the long run. Any progress with quitting smoking? If not yet; that's okay. Celebrate the progress you have made. Sorry to hear about the bad news in your family Jen.

I appreciate that, Frasier. Definitely something no one can avoid in life, bad news that is. Hope all is well with you.

Things are okay but, as per usual, I am struggling with health anxiety. A big thing for me, as I've sure you've heard many times on these forums, is acceptance. In particular, I find these "five remembrances" to be helpful. It just helps me remember that dying and death are not a catastrophe, they are the inevitable result of being alive in the first place.
  1. I am subject to aging. There is no way to avoid aging.
  2. I am subject to ill health. There is no way to avoid illness.
  3. I am going to die. There is no way to avoid death.
  4. Everyone and everything that I love will change, and I will be separated from them.
  5. My only true possessions are my actions, and I cannot escape their consequences.
