I posted a while ago that I was having diarrhea almost all the time 3-4 times a day. I went through a short period where it settled down a little but now it’s back.

I’ve been going to the bathroom after every meal and it’s freaking me out. I also noticed there’s a lot of mucus in my stool.

I was scheduled for a colonoscopy last month but my husband got covid and I had to cancel. The next one isn’t until March so I’m putting myself through hell now thinking the worst. I did have a colonoscopy 5 years ago and it was normal. I am 35.

It sounds like IBS-D (IBS with diarrhea). Colon cancer does not usually present with symptoms of diarrhea. I would ask a gastro about IBS and see if there are diet recommendations you can follow to ease your symptoms while you wait for your scope.

Thank you! I have spoken to him and he gave me a medication for IBS that I took in late October. I was pretty much ok since then, but all the symptoms have returned.

What worries me is that when I first use the bathroom in the morning, it is solid, but always follows with multiple bowel movements that are diarrhea.

I am having same issues with diarrhea...unfortunately I am 45 and my colonoscopy was 8 years ago (probably outdated). I thought I read that diarrhea for more than few weeks is potential sign of colon cancer?

Nooooo. I mean could it be? Maybe. Is it? Very not likely. IBS can also give you weeks of it.

It could be anything.
One of my clients has stage 4 colon cancer and his only symptom was he became bloated and was weak.
Anxiety can cause digestive issues.
It's quite common that diarrhea issue happen for us more common then not.
Diarrhea can cause mucus in your stool.
I would get the though of cancer out of your mind as anxiety will cause your mind to start believing you have some undiagnosed medical condition with grim outlook.
Accept the fact that cancer is probably the worse case but you probably don't have it .
Clean up your diet and eliminate things .
