So last week i had an ultrasound done on both armpits because i felt some sort of moveable lump in my armpit towards the middle/top of my armpit. The ultrasound results came back normal. It said lymph nodes look benign and that they don't correspond with the area that i found the lump and there were no masses or cysts found. However i still feel like i feel something swollen and it is boggling my mind how nothing was found. I'm worried that the tech didn't scan the whole armpit. I think she did but i was nervous and kind of not paying attention while she was scanning. She also had me point to the area that i felt something. Do you think they scanned the whole armpit? I went through the images of the ultrasound and there are almost 30 pictures taken of just the right armpit alone. Should i get another right armpit ultrasound done? Sorry if i sound crazy i just really need some advice

I think you are in the clear and I would try not to worry.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I had breast pain one time and they made sure to get several pictures of the area to make sure they got it. I don't think there is any question they scanned the area you pointed to. They do this every day. Sometimes we feel things that are nothing significant.

Agreed. You just accomplished something huge. You may not see it, but you did.
Take the win. You’re ok :)

A number of years ago I found a small lump in my neck near the parotid gland. I flipped out and thought Lymphoma. I had an ultrasound of my neck and it was determined it was a benign lymph node which eventually went away in around 6 weeks. My physician thought it may have been caused by a cut from shaving.

No, because even if you got another ultrasound you would still question the results or the technician or the radiologist who interprets the results. You need to work on accepting that nothing was found and that’s the end of it. Our bodies are amazing things and they do weird stuff sometimes for reasons unknown, but that doesn’t mean whatever is happening is a cause for concern.

Update...so yesterday i went to my doctor for a follow up about the armpits. She felt my armpits again and this time is saying she doesn't feel any lumps and that it's probably just my armpit tissue/muscles. She thinks the ultrasound would have shown something. I'm still so confused lol i guess it's just how my armpits are. It still has me worried even though my doctor said not to be anxious about it

The joys of anxiety making us doubt everything. If you've had a clear ultrasound and the Dr has said they can't feel anything then there's not much other proof you could have to make you feel better other than working on the anxious thoughts as that's the problem! Easier said than done I no!

I’m having the same anxiety! In late 2021, I found an armpit lump. That led to mammo and u/s, that uncovered a breast lump that needed to be biopsied although they decided just to watch the armpit lump. Over 2022, I had the armpit lump u/s 4x and then again in January of this year with my annual mammo/us. The lump is still there and the other day, I felt it and thought I felt another lump near it. It honestly feels like tissue but my mind is going there. My kids just left for college and I’m a new empty nester. Now that I have time on my hands, I’m really having to talk to myself about ruining this chapter in my life with worries and fears. I can’t. I’m going to monitor the lump and if it truly worries me that there’s something new to examine, I’ll go to the dr. Otherwise, I’ll get my annual u/s in 5 months. But I’m not googling and going down rabbit holes crying as I normally do. And really, as morbid as it sounds, I’m so exhausted from worrying about my health for 45 years. When my time is up, it’s up, and I want to enjoy what I hope are decades more of good health. Age 40-50 were so turbulent for me, and at 52, which I will turn tomorrow on August 23, I want to live with light and happiness!

I totally made this about me but you get my drift. You done the right thing and gotten it looked at with a normal result. Let it go like Elsa!
