What is scaring me 5h1tless lately are the military aircraft flying overhead. It is far too many and frequent for it to just be training purposes. With the world the way it is at the moment, it really freaks me out when I see three or four army planes going over at the same time. Then it's a few times a day as well and it's not been always like this but just in recent months. I'm frightened of air strikes. I'm also wondering why the Russians keep sending military subs and planes over the UK airspace and our waters. The news is only giving a snippet on the ribbon on the bottom of the screen but they are not saying what is going on. If this isn't normal, and the Russian army is where they should not be then I want to know more, and I want to know why they keep coming. I don't understand why no one seems bothered. Do the authorities think that we forget that what was in the news last week, or a month ago?

  3. To be quite frank Janemarie, civilians will never know what's truly going on. In a way the less information we know the more protected we are. I know its difficult. Just take it one day at a time

That is all I can do, but this is where some of my anxieties lay. The problem is I do know too much information from my 9 years of living in Egypt throughout the Arab uprising. I heard all kinds of things that was planned for the not too distant future and my problem is that I have seen those plans come to pass. I'm the kind of person that asks questions. I don't accept things straight off the shelf. I can't be a robot and go with the flow of the rest of them.
  5. Sounds like me. I like details then over analyze things. Ive been like that since I was a kid. People say that the less information tou know the more at peace you are. Sometimes the unknown is nerve racking. Its really not easy. But all we can do is is hope for the best outcome of the unknown.

I suppose the feeling of lose of control and not being able to do anything about it is one of the main reasons for anxiety.
A lot of traumas have to do with being at the mercy of a certain situation or a certain person and having no control over what will happen to them.
Anxiety might be a way to try to take control back?
The constant checking on health, of the doors are locked or the need to constantly control every situation we encounter.

Sometimes I wonder if it would be better to be ignorant and oblivious. It's just not my make up.

This is what I had in Egypt and it gave me PTSD.
