For the past two days I have had intermittent scalp pain/pressure on the top of my head, and the left side. I feel it more when I lay down. I don’t have a headache at the time I feel it, so I’m freaking myself out what it could be. It’s not like a sharp pain, but more like a bruised/pressure type pain. I don’t have to touch it to feel it, and I definitely feel it more when I’m laying down.

I haven’t googled but I’m thinking the extreme... stroke, hemorrhage, aneurysm, swelling of the brain, encephalitis...

Anyone experience this before?

I'm feeling something similar. I've been feeling it all the time today, whatever I'm doing. Its a pressure and dull type of pain like you describe, nearing the right side of my head. Though not the top. I also tend to get anxious thinking about such neurological issues like that. Like aneurysm being my biggest. Your not alone. Still feeling it?

oh my, i'm experiencing this as well. I feel a tender pain on the top left side of my head when I pressed on it. it feels more on the scalp rather than inside the head. I also feel some light headache on the left side of my temple and on the top back of the head. like you I'm also worried about aneurysm. I hope someone in here can help us explain what's going on.

I have no idea why this happens but I’ve had this SO many times for so many years.. if it was anything terrible I think it would have killed me by now? I think it could be tension related? Stress/neck tension?

For the past couple of days, I have been getting a similar feeling on my left side of head. Behind the ear area. It comes randomly, and lasts a couple of seconds and then goes away.
Normally I always get my head aches in the same area when I suffer from headaches, and this is definitely not it.
I haven’t put too much thought into it but now I am. Trying to remind myself that head aches are very, very common and usually nothing bad.
Try telling yourself that too. I have also noticed since I am stressing about it now, I am more aware of the pain, and becoming more anxious, and then the pain happens again. It’s like a cycle, no joke.

Coming to this thread a year later! Experiencing “whooshes” or waves of a quick, radiating type pain on the top/left of head, only a second! But makes me feel so weird for that one second! It’s been happening all day today, probably at least 10-15 times. Totally weird…..I’m not a fan. Is this similar to what you experienced? Did it last for days with you? I worry most about stroke/aneurysm

I have never heard that pain is a symptom of stroke or aneurysm. Especially one that only lasts a few seconds. Both of my parents had strokes, one blockage and one bleeder. Neither of them had any kind of pain in the head or anywhere else.

This is good to know, thank you! It is crazy the things we just “assume” about our aches and pains. I wonder if HA causes us to also “feel” more things than most people? Like when i feel this “whoosh” in my head, do other think also have those sensations but they just don’t actually feel it?

The scary part is I’m the OP and I’ve had so many health anxiety worries since this post that I honestly don’t remember!! I can tell you that it definitely was not what I was fearing it was, and it did go away.
I think other people feel what we feel but we are just more tuned in and once it freaks us out, the sensations get worse!
