I'd like to share a quote that I found recently:

"Do not ever get agitated by provoking thoughts and actions. Always keep your calm. This will shame the alien."
-Lailah Gifty Akita

I'm sorry, but the alien part just threw me off XD, picturing my anxiety and fears in the shape of a green bug-eyed cartoon alien that I must shame into oblivion like a nagging schoolteacher. Hopefully it'll also entertain and calm someone else if only for the few seconds.

Personally I find it calming to look up quotes, online novels and funny comics. If anyone's got something calming and funny, please share!

Nothing more calming for me than Pink Floyd. This song is just so relaxing.

Matthew 6:26

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

Even if one isn’t religious, it’s a beautiful verse.

MainerMikeBrown, that’s from the serenity prayer:

God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen.
