Hello, me again.
While checking my breasts, I have come across this painless pea size lump just by my nipple. I have issues with my left breast which has been checked out and this little fella is in the right, not sure if I should be worried or not. I think it feels hard. And I can’t work out if it’s fixed or moveable. Trying to to get to anxious about it. But it is worrying me a little bit. Xx

Could be a milk gland. If you feel your nipples, there’s little “balls” underneath and those are the glands in the nipple.
Could be a cyst.
Could be extra tissue.
There’s a lot of benign reasons

You should get it checked. If it is something bad it's best to catch it early. I just had my colonoscopy and they found a polyp. In a few years it could have turned cancerous.

Did you get the colonoscopy because of symptoms or for a checkup?

It’s best that you get this checked, because usually there’s no way to know by just feeling it for yourself. The good thing is that there’s no pain. Is there any redness / swelling in the surrounding region? And have you noticed any changes in your weight or weight loss?

It might just be something totally benign and not a cause for worry :)

Just to add to this, I remember in a different post you did say that had just had your breasts checked a week ago during a cervical appt.
They checked your breasts and didn’t see anything bad or feel anything.
Sometimes your body just creates small cysts in the breast. I know all say to get checked but I just want you to know and try to calm your fears.
because having HA, the last thing you want ispeople telling you “go get checked”.

Checkup. My father had colon cancer that they caught early. His brother died of it. The awful thing about it is how preventable it is with a simple colonoscopy. I don't know why they insist of drugging people. It was no big deal. I put it off mainly because I didn't have a ride and I didn't want to be drugged.

How often do you get it done?
I have one scheduled for next week but I’m terrified of catching covid there so I was going to put it off. I had my last one 5 years ago, but no history of it in my family (that I know of).

I have the exact same thing, have had it for almost 2 years, never got it checked out but at my last ob appt (before I found it) my doctor focused on that spot and I had wondered why. I noticed it after I stopped breastfeeding my son. How old are you? I’m 34 and found it when I was 33.

I had persistent diarrhea that has since resolved and lower left abdomen pain (not really pain, but like a strain almost) but it’s on and off so I’ve been putting it off for a few months now.

That is reassuring to know! I am 30, only found it couple days ago, it’s next to my nipple piercing, not under it. To be honest with you I have never really focused on checking my nipples, so I’m actually unsure how long it has been there. My nipple keeps crusting since I have had it pierced and I had a shooting pain through the nipple which is why I pressed it and then found it. Now I’m obsessing lol. Cos that’s what HA does to you! I also found it the day I came off my period too so unsure if it’s connected??! Thankyou for replying to me though x

Nipple has glands underneath it. If you press down on your nipples, you’ll feel something.
I’m not trying to shy away about a “problem” but I’m trying to ease your mind for now.
I have a Women’s Health forum app as well and I have read about a lot of women who find small lumps underneath their breasts/nipples, and later they update the forum and advice how it was nothing or a small cyst.
This one that stuck out to me was one who had it and then advised several months later that it just disappeared.
You just had a breast exam done by a doc. Let your brain not give in to HA!!

Could be stress. Anxiety. I go through the same thing every now and then.

I don’t feel it in the other nipple at all, I have felt it today and it feels more that the surface of the areola next to the nipple. I really do hope it’s not anything sinister, as I said I am going to give it a week and then maybe get it checked. I keep getting sore breast but in both of them and sometimes a sharp stabbing pain that lets seconds in the nipple with the lump. I had one breast checked out by the nurse last week because I was worried about the nipple but this is the other one and she didn’t check that one.

Do you feel it when you lay down flat?

Do you think it’s related to your piercings?
Hiya, I know it’s not good to but I done a tad bit of searching dr google. Instead of searching the typical “breast cancer “ I typed in lump under areola. What came up was a subareolar breast abscess, which is common ish in women who are not lactating, a cause of this could be a nipple piercing!! So I’m going with that I am a little hopeful this is all it is cos it’s still there almost a week later and I haven’t had it looked at yet, and I’m actually trying not to call the doctors but think if it is an infection/abscess it will need treating right?
