Part Of Human Nature Is Positive Thinking, Which Is Rational

Many people in our world are generally positive thinkers.

Years ago, I was reading a book about psychology that discussed that.

The author said that, say someone is a sports fan and his or her favorite team wins a game. After the win, the person will likely say that he/she is glad they won, because seeing their team lose would have stunk.

But if the team loses a game, the person will likely say that it's just a game. It's no big deal.

I think it's true that that's a part of human nature for those who are positive thinkers.

However, I think that's a good thing! I don't think that's irrational. I say enjoy the win if your favorite team wins a game, but don't think it's the end of the world if the team loses.

And I believe that's true about life in general. You know, things that more important in your life than rooting for your favorite sports team. I say be a positive thinker in order to help yourself with excessive anxieties and sadness.

I agree with you on that. I'm pretty much a negative thinker, which is a lifelong habit and terrible for my anxiety and outlook.

I disagree with it in part. Human beings are very negative in nature. We are self indulgent, and do not usually care about someone suffering. That varies on person to person though. How many times does someone give to the poor, not very often.
To say that if the team won, shows positive mindset isnt true, as i said human beings are very self indulgent, if the team loses, the fans throw a fit, and some even get angry and lash out on others when the team loses. Think about interviewers, they do not always choose someone who is right for the job, but who appeals to them personally the most. I have seen these things with my own eyes.
