Every so often I get a weird sensation in my throat that feels like maybe (?????) my heart might have skipped a beat. It’s weird, it’s sort of in my throat. It’s the only way I can express it :-0

Now I’m really scared: someone on here mentioned that their Covid started with palpitations. :-0
No other symptoms here though; heart is just a bit high today in the upper 80s bpm. Granted we have some big stressful stuff going on this week. :(

Heart rate in the 80s is absolutely normal, not even slightly abnormal. Normal resting rate for adults is 60-100 BPM, but even that varies depending on genetics, overall physical fitness, etc. Palpitations are also completely harmless barring any known underlying heart conditions. IMO you're experience very normal sensations, regardless of whether or not you have anxiety.

Palpitations are normal. The more your aware (unfortunately we are) the more they seem to occur. I’ve had them for years never lead to anything else. It could also be trapped wind they mimic similarly too. 80bpm is absolutely fine. When your anxious your heart will naturally beat faster anyway. 60-100 bpm it’s pretty normal for most people.

I had exactly this a few years ago. The doc had me wear a 24hr heart monitor, and it showed that the "skipped beats" were a completely normal thing that was nothing to worry about.

"One type of arrhythmia, a premature ventricular contraction, or PVC, is the most common type of irregular heartbeat.

A PVC happens when the heart beats too early, which causes a stronger second beat. This causes a fluttering or pounding sensation in the chest. Most people have at least one PVC every day, and many don’t even notice it."
Many people - but not us! :hungover:

Everyone experiences palpitations to some degree, we notice them more when we are worried about them. Personally I've had them since I was a teenager, they sort of come in spells where I have them strongly for a few days or a week then I go a while without noticing them. If I had to bet money I would say you are just fine.
