I made the error of saying to him that I could get by busting a 1mg tablet in half and bam he'd only give me the .5mg afterwards.I receive 20 .5 tabs every 8 days. While I would love more to be honest, I do realize that there are potential serious side effects so I appreciate my doctor helping to the extent she believes is safe for me. Some doctors unfortunately will still prescribe opioids and other anxiety medications (not including anti-depressants) willy-nilly which is sad. Peoples lives can be ruined by addiction to such meds, and it’s an intelligent and caring doctor who finds that sweet spot between the amount needed to help with anxiety and the danger point. Having said that, hopefully he is teetering you down, since withdrawal can be really tough even with a reduction.
I should add that, I've been a daily drinker and pot smoker for over 40yrs.Why when my previous Dr. now retired would fill 100 1mg lorazepam any time, and now my new Dr. will only give me 20 .5mg at a time?
It really kicks the heck out of anxiety and is helpful to get through the days when I need it.

Mostly beer and quite heavy at times but recently I've cut back on both to the point of not at all for weeks at a time, and anxiety returned.
I'm certain any will say that I'm just covering up my anxiety with alcohol and maybe so, but it's always been a part of my life as has pot/hash.
