I'm hoping someone can help. My therapist seems to be in a bad place. When the lockdown began, I did two phone sessions with her. She has been weird toward me in the past, but she ended up calling me self absorbed and selfish when I asked her for help with preserving my own mental health right now.
Something unexpected and upsetting has happened to my closest friend recently. Due to the situation, I can't contact my friend and don't know how she is doing. I am under lockdown still and will be for a long time yet.
I am struggling with loneliness and just the hardship of some things. I texted my therapist to set up an appointment a few days ago and let her know my situation and why I was wanting to set up an appointment. She has always tended to ignore me on the rare times I have texted her in crisis. But, this time, she has flat out ignored my inquiry as to whether we can set up a phone session.
Does anyone know how I can find a therapist right now under lockdown that doesn't involve using an app or teladoc as I don't have access to apps right now and I can't get teladoc to work. But, I need a therapist right now and am not sure how to go about it. I'm in the US by the way.

Hi Tender; How rude of that so called therapist! In the US and Canada you can access phone counseling with licensed psychologists. Go to this website and you'll find that section;

www.anxietycentre.com

I used it briefly. Very good, but be prepared for costs of about $100-120 per session. I had to wait a week for a therapist to become available; now with COVID I hope the wait isn't longer.
