They put me on antibiotics for 10 days and i finished it on Monday. Since the infection started i have been having night sweats (my neck and chest). I already had a panic attack twice when walk up in the middle of the night and felt sweaty. I started to cry and convinced myself it is lymphoma. i went to doctor yesterday to do all my blood work and he said i dont have a swollen lymph nodes but i cant stop thinking about it. please help me.

Hi and welcome nyc41. There are so many folks here with health anxiety. Unfortunately, it seems the main scourge of health anxiety is that it doesn't allow us to believe your doctor. One goal is to find a doctor who you feel is honest and very informed about anxiety who you can trust and believe their assessment. It's so tough to do but it is absolutely one the keys to living with health anxiety.

Hi NYC, welcome to the forum first of all. Happy to have you here. First off, sorry to hear that you were sick. That’s never fun.
It appears to me that you have a classic case of health anxiety. Not being able to believe your doctor and trust their word is one of the classic “symptoms” of health anxiety.
The first best thing you can do for yourself to start remedying this case of health anxiety is to trust your doctor and what they have told you. If they have told you you don’t have swollen lymph nodes and that you are healthy after finishing your antibiotic, then they speak the truth. There is no reason to doubt those that went to extra school for that stuff :)
Also, I have a friend who had a friend who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, his symptoms did not include night sweats. It was actually found by a simple body inspection.
Are you currently in any sort of therapy for your anxiety? Or medication?
Hope you can find comfort in this post :)

I think night sweats from a serious cause are worse than just feeling sweaty. Like... you'd be soaked and probably have to change your clothes. I had night sweats after I had my first baby and I literally thought I had wet the bed.

Did you get the results of your blood work yet? That should help ease your mind.

Hi! Night sweats can be from anxiety and also from the room being too hot. If it is too hot in the bedroom, I will sweat at night. I do not think you have anything to worry about especially since you were just sick. Your body could be trying to sweat out the remainder of the germs. Like I said, I sweat sometimes at night even when I am not sick.
