It’s very late and I’m still to anxious to fall asleep. Mostly I sleep well but here and there I can not stop thinking about all my imperfections and bring on more troubling thoughts as the hours pass. Very tired and have to face my work day in a few hours! I am very ill due to my worries. Hopefully I’ll get through it! My first post...

Hello, and welcome to the message board my friend. A lot of us have Anxiety at night I'd say most and have trouble sleeping. There are days when I dread the night time because I fear won't be able to sleep and my anxiety will be rampant the next day. I literally feel sick because of worrying.

Hopefully you'll have a restful night's sleep.
I really need a few nights in a row of good sleep. I just joined this community and have read every post I can find. I was surprised that many posts were what I was going through, almost as if my concerns were and thoughts were being answered before I even posted them. I implemented suggestions that I had read from members who were replying to others and it drastically helped me to push forward and get out of my panic attack. Now if I can get the rest I need before my shift tomorrow I’ll be feeling much better. Hopefully I will, but usually I don’t unfortunately. If my Past history repeats itself I’ll get between 4-5 hours of sleep. Well just see how it goes and take it from there. Thank you for your help! I hope your doing well!

Have you tried CBD oil for sleep? It's legal, made from hemp, and people do swear it is fabulous for anxiety and sleep. I hope to wean myself off of pharmaceuticals and transition to CBD. It's also high in antioxidants and supposed to be great for inflammation and pain. I hope you are sleeping as i type this!

Case of distraction. Taking your mind off of yourself. We can focus inwardly. You know you want to sleep. You know you must sleep. Chances are you won't sleep once you are thinking about it that much. Each and every night I put a radio on. Not blasting out or anything like that. I can just about hear it. Mainly talk radio. It helps me to get asleep. stops the mind from thinking inwardly. The worst thing we can do is try and force sleep. Then become frustrated because we can't sleep. All that does is serve to keep us wide awake. Distraction works for me. Other people might use a form of medication to knock them out. I just won't be into that at all. Take enough medication as it is. Just try and find something that works for you.

I'm one of those other people and use 2 kinds of meds to knock myself out. I don't recommend because the next day I feel like a zombie. I've never tried CBD but I want I use to smoke alot of weed and that would help but I can't anymore because it makes my panic attack even worse. Although my sleeping got so bad I'll take feeling like a zombie anyday. I couldn't handle 2 hrs a sleep at night for weeks it got to me on a whole new level.
I agree with Cuchculan about distractions because anytime I focus on getting sleep I can't.

The irony is the SSRI at what make not be able to sleep they always effect like that not being able to fall asleep but my anxiety is so bad I have to stay on them. I feel like once you take one medication you have to take another it's a slippery slope.

From what I understand, CBD oil is derived from the hemp plant and contains no THC, which is the psychoactive component of marijuana. The THC is probably what caused panic. I'm seriously going to check it out. Sweet dreams to you!
