I'm new to the forum, but definitely not anxiety. Been having random pains for years some legit some nothing. I'm 38 going on 39 and I'm always worrying about my health which anxiety usually follows. My family has history with various issues and ever since my parents passed I been more anxious. My anxiety seems to hit more at njght then I get worried about this or that and makes worse. I'm only on zoloft for anxiety. I take multi vitamins and lisinopril for bp. Tonight I had to reach out to someone as I'm feeling that anxiety big time

Hi Daisy. You’re in good company, as you can see by the number of posts under the various subsections on this site. This is a great group of people. All of us suffer as you do, especially general anxiety and health anxiety (my personal nightmare). The funny thing is that our folks here give great advice to others, but we fail to heed that same advice when it comes to our own personal issues.

All you can do is live as healthy a life as you can. You know, no smoking, moderate if any alcohol, exercise, eat well. To a larger degree than we realize, we can control our mental outlook and even our destiny. The key, and Lord knows it’s easier said than done, is acceptance, especially of uncertainty. Therapy works for some to help with that. Anyway, we’re here for you, just reach out.

Thanks for the comment. I don't drink or smole so I guess that's a start. I been trying to even go gluten free, bjt that's been more of a challenge. I listen to music when I feel anxious (like tonight) though I did go a couple days without much for a change. night anxiety really is crappy for me as is harder to get to sleep. I worry about health a lot especially with history and what not. I been reading some the posts and know I'm in the right place

Hi! Welcome. I totally resonate with you on the nighttime anxiety. That’s when it gets real bad for me. I usually try to read but sometimes I have to do breath or meditative practices to calm myself to sleep, it’s taken a long time to build such a practice. I used to just have a panic attack which would cause me to pass out from exhaustion but that’s not a fun way to go to sleep! Anyway, I am always here to offer some ideas for gentle guided calming exercises you can do in your head if that sounds helpful lmk
