Gf just diagnosed with panic attacks/anxiety disorder. After a month of 3 doctor visits and 4 ER visits she is finally on meds to keep her out of ER.
has appointments with counselor and doctor next week.
I want to help. Don’t know how to.

Also feel like I could use help. I feel like I lost my gf. On the meds she sits on the couch and is minimally responsive. I get that we are early on in the journey but I’m feeling similar feeling to a divorce or death. She is absent. When there is conversation it is all about her and every minute detail of her day on the couch.

Any resources or ideas?

Zoomer, I'm glad your girlfriend is on meds that now keep her out of the ER.

I know things are hard right now for her and you. But it sounds like she might be on the right track.

I knew a person who was on psychiatric meds that caused this individual to be minimally responsive as well.

Does your girlfriend's doctor think she's going to get better on her current meds so she won't be minimally responsive in the future while on these same meds?

She backed off one of the meds on her own. She has been doing a bit more and isn’t quite as spacey. Trying to find happy medium between calm and functional.

In general things are better than they have been.

Glad to hear things are better. With meds, unfortunately its a lets see if this works if not lets try something else. But glad she is seeking help. I pray she get the help that she need and you both feel a sense of calm.
