Hi. I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety for roughly 15 years with multiple hospital stays due to anxiety attacks. On plenty of meds. Also been diagnosed with depression in the last year. Didn’t feel like posting all my garbage on Facebook for friends and family to see so thought I’d join a forum? What’s the worst that could happen.

Anyways, sometimes the meds just aren’t enough.

Hi and welcome awfulgolfer. This could turn out to be a good decision coming here. Since we're all in the same boat in some form here, you can share anything in detail that you wouldn't share with anyone else without any members thinking "Boy, that's weird". Sounds like your anxiety/depression has really effected your golf game. Again, welcome.

Hi awfulgolfer,

Welcome to the forum.

This is a good start because everyone here is dealing with or has dealt with anxiety. No judgements (at least from me) in this forum.

Agreed. Facebook isn't the best place to post deeper seeded issues. Especially since employers can access your social media. It's best to be prudent when posting online.

How ya feeling today?

Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy your time and make some good friends. We all suffer from something or other. So you are never alone. Facebook is never the place to vent / rant. Have seen it done many a time all to no avail. Forum like this one is a much better place to post about how you are feeling. Here you will get some feedback from other members who might be going through something similar.

Thanks for the welcome. The name actually my gamer tag on Xbox. I used it so I could actually remember it! I probably too old for video games but I still play from time to time.

Never even considered employers looking at my social media. Terrifying thought. As to how am I feeling today? Down. No reason, no excuse, just down. I know tomorrow or the day after will be better but today...

Yeah. Social media has gotten so many people in trouble. Even if "deleted" a screenshot is forever. I can't believe the stuff that people are willing to post and then have to defend. I use it for general stuff but make sure to not post anything to incriminating or inflammatory. Not worth it if someone gets a hold of my account.

There is nothing in the law which specifically prevents an employer from reviewing an employee’s social media activity and many employers opt to do this to prevent a situation where employees bring the company into disrepute.
