Hey all
So after literally having the week from hell anxiety wise after being extremely stressed over Xmas. My anxiety isn’t as intense but I keep getting extreme waves of it. I top of that I’m also in a lot of pain due to being so anxious my muscles hurt and my tummy is so full of wind as it’s been so uptight with anxiety. I honestly don’t no what to do anymore when I have these weeks of extreme anxiety it’s like I’m not in control of my emotions at all

In anxiety you are always in control of your emotions, although it may not seem so. I have never regarded anxiety as real mental illness, because in those cases they do lose control of emotions and actions. It does seem as if the emotions take over, and maybe cause us to be afraid of every symptom that comes up. But we KNOW we are like it, so many real mentally ill people don't know. Knowing can give us the chance to try and reason things out.
The book suggestions by MATD are a must. Dr. Weekes especially. She knew what anxiety was like having suffered herself.

A few years back I had the same problem, I had anxiety I suffered a lot back then I tried everything like Coping strategies & medical help.
As you know Anxiety and depression both are common mental illnesses nowadays. but yes you can overcome it, as I do By getting help from coping techniques (take time. Eat nutritious food. Limit alcohol and caffeine, which can increase anxiety and cause panic attacks. Get enough sleep. Exercise daily to make yourself fit and to maintain your health, do deep breathing, Count to 10 slightly) to counseling. Counseling worked well for me It helped me a lot to understand my triggers and how to control them.

Last but not least you should do try counseling therapy too, if these strategies don't work, understand your triggers and learn how to control them. I am sure it will work for you too.
Best of luck.
