So last night i randomly was feeling around the back of my neck and felt a little lump on the back of my head/neck. It's on my hairline. Of course i started stressing out and this morning went to an urgent care clinic. The PA there felt the lump and thought it could have been my occipital lymph node. She didn't seem concerned and she said it doesn't seem to be anything serious but i asked for an ultrasound referral. I managed to get an ultrasound appointment today and already received the results. The impression on the report said "normal appearing lymph node" in the region of interest. But the findings said there was a small oval shaped hypoechoic nodule and that it is located superficially within the subcutaneous fat. I'm so confused by the results. I know a nodule is some kind of lump cause i have had benign breast nodules for years. I have an appointment with my primary care doctor for Monday to discuss the results. I have no clue if the nodule has to do with the lymph node or if they are two separate things. I called the PA at the clinic who i saw this morning to ask her about the results hoping she would explain things better and she basically said she has no clue. She made me more anxious though cause she made it seem like the nodule was the lymph node. No one is explaining things and its frustrating. Any thoughts?
