They say depression is normal.
But what is longest stretch of depression you have been through?
Me personally about 3 months
In 2006 my ex wife asked for a divorce.
I was so depressed I lost my job and was living in my car for about a week.
That was a tough time.

When I was a teenager, I was in severe depression from September of 1992 through June of 1994. That was the longest stretch of depression I've been through in my life.

I fear I might be in one stretch now. I’ve been struggling for awhile but these last few weeks...really since the holidays...I have been steadily getting worse and having difficulty functioning, especially at work. I’m strongly considering giving meds a try.

If you can id try a few other things before meds.
Diet and exercise.
Getting your hormones checked.
Therapy.
Maybe a vacation.
Once you're on meds its hard to come off.
I've never been on meds except trt.

I’m not and honestly, have never really been comfortable with meds. It has been recommended for me and I am thinking about it, just not sure I can get there. I am doing a long weekend in a city I love to visit very soon so I hope that lifts my spirits some. Therapy for me is once every other week and I would like to do better with diet and exercise. I also think springtime coming and getting fresh air will help some. So grey, gloomy and bleak here right now with more snow on the way.
