I have an idea. And I’m not sure if this goes against guidelines or anything like that but I think that this could be something to help us all.

I have had almost constant anxiety for the past 6 months, I’m done living like this and want to get my life back and live happily and healthily! I’m sure you do too.

With my experience being on many teams, you build character and become a better person on a team. And with my experiences with anxiety in the past, you can’t tackle it alone.

With that being said, my idea is to create a group of us members on here with a chat where we can discuss every night and work on overcoming anxiety together.

We can structure this to work however we all agree upon, but I feel this can be a great tool for all of us.

-We can have “assignments” to do every night where we for example write 5 good things that happened to you today and 5 things you are looking forward to tomorrow.

-we can openly discuss how we’re feeling and help eachother on how to change that

-offer advice and suggestions on how to ease anxiety

-be supportive and positive with eachother

-we will overcome anxiety!

With my experience, I have become so anxious due to creating a habit and getting in a cycle. I believe the only way to get out of a habit is to start a new one.

With repetition of thinking positively of experiences and thoughts, your anxiety will vanish.

I think this is a great, free, safe and powerful tool in our journey.

Feel free to offer suggestions and if you want to do this!

Let me know your thoughts below!

I am in. My anxiety is soooooo much better than it was. I was in a very dark place stricken with panic attacks and anxiety... it was awful. I really like sharing some of the things that has helped me. I really like this site but I wish it was a bit more active. How about we find a An Anxiety buddy or two and we send daily chat messages. I don't think that will go against site guidelines.

Sounds great. I am glad you have such a great mindset! I haven’t really tooled around on this website much so I’m not sure how to do that? I’m sure it’s not hard to figure out..

Did you get your message? The small envelope in the right hand corner should show you have a message and you should be able to reply back,

Having a rough couple of days. Can't seem to get out of my own head space... I desperately want to move on with my life but my head won't let these thoughts go. Tried listening to self-forgiveness ted talks, helped a little. Just can't seem to beat this...

We done similar on another forum once. On the forum we could chat about how we were feeling. But our challenges were to do things we might otherwise not do in life. Not talking big things. Cup of coffee in a coffee shop. Think that was the first ever challenge because most of us done things alone. To gone some place others would be and sit down and have your cup of coffee. We just built on it over time. New challenges every week. No pressure if you couldn't meet a challenge. We would discuss what that person felt like at that time in our forum thread. There was also a chat room on this site so we could talk there too. What a lot of people found easier was the photograph challenge. To head out and simply take some pictures of anything you wanted to. It was as if looking at life through a camera was much easier for so many people. The camera been the distraction no doubt. Then working out what you were going to take pictures of. Those involved simply start leaving their homes for longer periods of time. So it was more than just us talking about our issues. We had a weekly end goal if we were up to it. The best results by far was the camera and the pictures. Not everybody could meet every challenge. That was allowed. They explained their feelings about the whole thing. Some wanted a second and even third attempt at some challenges. The idea is a good one. Maybe start off talking in a group and then expand on it. Find out some things people avoid doing and work towards them doing those things again. Could be for five minutes only. The thing is they would have done something they had not done in a long time.

I know what you mean. For me in those times I need to just get up and do something and try and change my focus getting busy with something else. I would also listen and watch to those motivation talks and for an hour or two after I watch it I’m feeling great and then after I just go back to how I was. It’s a rough cycle but we will all get out of it!

I think there are some good ideas in there and they can really help people. My goal is to keep it casual but structured so it’s just not all random. I am happy to see that there’s been a decent amount of interest.

For years we had a local anxiety support group and we had a telephone call list that saved many lives. All the old people recovered and moved on and so did the people running the groups so they no longer exist. Having an understanding anxiety friend on hte other line was wonderful

In Europe they have 27/7 call centers

That sound awesome! I honestly don't know when the last time I've been out alone was. I'm sure that helped a lot of people.

hello,
I’d like to try this out! I’ve been very active on the health anxiety forum, but I think this will be a good opportunity to work on my GAD too!
