Can you join a support group for a problem without having been formally diagnosed but sharing symptoms?...anxiety, ptsd, depression etc.
sometimes it seems that just having someone in a similar situation is helpful by not making you feel so alone. That is the point of support groups right? But what if you can’t be professionally diagnosed? Do you need to be? Are you a fake if youre not? I’ve thought of joining a local group but don’t want to feel like I do not belong... I’d like to vent, to meet others who have similar struggles, but if I dont have it written down on paper can I still do that? It sucks feeling like youre alone with no one to talk to...

Labels are just that, labels. What we have in this forum are people with varying degrees of anxiety symptoms sharing how they effect their lives. You're always welcome here.

I meant in person though:/ like local in person meetups. Or i guess maybe zoom meeting style for now with covid.

Depends if they ask or not. Some might ask. Then you might feel awkward. Or others in the group might not want to open up. Might get a few questions throw your direction. Hard to know until it happens.

Its talk to talk about feelings inside with others. Most of the time, i talk and pray about it. I have no friends. God is my only friend. The point is its common to feel alone, the negativity in this world is around for sure. Its weird because if people that felt alone came together and made friends with each other, then the world would be a slightly better place.
