I got a job

I finally got a job. Its been a rough few months for me since coronavirus caused the gelato thing to go out of business. I've been searching for another job for months now, interview after interview. I'm 16 so it's been even harder. I have little experience. But I finally got a job in retail, retail sales associate. Its definitely going to test my social anxiety, that's for sure. But that's why I applied. I want to work on overcoming it and working with people. Pay is good, I get paid weekly. Its temporary but if I like it I might inquire about more long term position.
The dress code is something I gotta get used to. There wasn't any at my last job, so. Plus the rules for absents and tardies are less lenient. I just have to get back into my rhythm though.

Well done to you. Hope you like the job and settle in quickly without any problems at all.

Oo update. I don't like how much my feet and back hurt. Decent money for my age. But still. They have the tendency work me days in a row and off days are altogether. I wanna stay but also want to quit. I need the money but I don't know if its worth being so uncomfortable

Do you have good shoes? and be sure to watch your posture. You can also still search for something else then leave your current job once you find something.

Even with the shoes. Feet still hurt, back. It was taxing on my body. I thought I could stand for 5 hours straight. Turns out I can't. Plus I sent in my resignation, so not much going back. I am looking for a sit down job now. Or at least one where I can periodically sit down.

What are your ideas in that regard? I think I read in one of your posts you really wanted to leave home. How is that going?

I have to wait, since I'm 16. Though I fully plan on trying my best to save any money I can. Live small. Maybe a tiny house or something.

Not enough people save money. You end up having more money that way because you don't have to borrow. I saved up and paid $7000 for my first car and after that I put $100 - $200 a month away in a car fund for repairs or another used car when the first was done. That way you don't have to waste on insurance either. Or course for years when I lived in the city I just rode a bike around for transport.
