Hello, my name is Pete. I am 43 and have been married 21 years and we have two daughters ages 20 & 19 as well as a 14 year old son. I have been suffering from anxiety and depression most of my life but it got worse as I got older. I was officially diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Depression in 2013 and a form of PTSD in 2016. Most of my issues stem from problems I had growing up, I guess you just can't get over everything. I came to the group to talk with others and share experiences. I look forward to engaging with everyone.

Welcome Pete.. I can relate to your experience. This is a good place for first hand advice (& commiserating, to be honest). Looking forward to your posts. peace

Good to have you here, Pete.

It can be difficult to get over certain unpleasant experiences in the past. However, seeing a therapist whom you think is competent can help you work through those issues.

Hi Pete, I missed your introductory post during my first pass through - welcome! Early life can sure leave deep marks on one's psyche, for good and for bad. I know some of my difficulties stem from being made to feel irrelevant or unimportant. I still feel surprised when an acquaintance remembers my name or something we have in common that we'd discussed briefly. It was my assumption for a long time that I was so inconsequential that people wouldn't bother remembering anything about me.
