Hope this does not scare anyone away, but in an effort to be completely honest, I am a retired therapist who after forty-two years of helping others through anxiety, panic and OCD, had to retire due to the need for brain surgery to remove a tumor. The tumor removal was successful but left me with some paralysis on my right side, problems with speech at times and infrequent but occasional focal seizures. I am learning to walk again, and am using my time writing, but I miss my clients.
I had panic attacks as a child and adolescent, which is why I chose to work with anxiety clients. I no longer wish to act as a therapist, let me be clear on that point.
I have medication induced anxiety symptoms and moments of depression, but through my experience, have been able to push them away. Of course this has been a life-changing event in my life and therefore I continue to work on my anxieties. I wish to be a support person for others while working on my remaining anxiety and recuperation.
