Hope this does not scare anyone away, but in an effort to be completely honest, I am a retired therapist who after forty-two years of helping others through anxiety, panic and OCD, had to retire due to the need for brain surgery to remove a tumor. The tumor removal was successful but left me with some paralysis on my right side, problems with speech at times and infrequent but occasional focal seizures. I am learning to walk again, and am using my time writing, but I miss my clients.

I had panic attacks as a child and adolescent, which is why I chose to work with anxiety clients. I no longer wish to act as a therapist, let me be clear on that point.
I have medication induced anxiety symptoms and moments of depression, but through my experience, have been able to push them away. Of course this has been a life-changing event in my life and therefore I continue to work on my anxieties. I wish to be a support person for others while working on my remaining anxiety and recuperation.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have been through a lot and still have a long journey ahead of you. I can only wish you well in that. No doubt you can imagine that we all suffer from something or other here on the forum. We share and try and help each other out as best we can. Even if we manage to help one person, that is job done. No doubt you will fit in well here. Lot of nice people. All friendly. So make yourself at home.

Thank you for the welcoming comments. It will be interesting being a participant and not the leader. Hope I can share some helpful knowledge plus benefit from the support.
