Ok is it common for anxiety to cause feelings of heart attacks for days on and off.
for 2 1/2 days now I have had chest pressure like super bad heartburn and than neck/shoulder upper back tension and stiff. I also have had nausea and a headache. On Thursday I woke up from sleeping to breathlessness and chest pain. comes and goes on and off. I am not on day 2 and dealing with headache and same feelings on and off. I am 31 female somewhat healthy. Need to lose about 40/50 pounds but hike and kayak and workout occasionally. And eat good Is this my anxiety. Help please. I’m finally going to get on anti anxiety medicine soon.

Have you been evaluated by a medical professional during the time you've felt like this? If these are new sensations, it wouldn't hurt to see your doc about it. And the obvious: if you think you're in imminent danger, go to the hospital.

No way we can know for sure. However, I can say I've absolutely felt these sensations many times over the years. Freaked out about the same thing, but I'm ultimately fine. It definitely can be anxiety causing it all.

I have not been evaluated. I’m calling tomorrow to my gp sadly I’ve put it off cause my car was in the shop I’m sure if I was in eminent danger I wouldn’t have it on and off. But my mind wants to think the worse.
thank you for your reply. my husband believes my last 2 1/2 weeks of worry have just now come to a head and have caused this. But we will be keeping an eye on it. And if it gets worse go into urgent care. It’s always refreshing knowing I’m not alone and others have felt this way. I wish I could just poof my HA away it only started 2 years ago and seems to get triggered easy and more often lately.

I would definitely get it checked out. That way you don't have to be afraid of the symptoms anymore and will know it's just anxiety, and if it did happen to be anything you can get it early.

yea I am do for an annual checkup. So I’ll be calling and setting it up. Definitely would rather be safe than sorry I believe it’s GERD which I deal with mixed with anxiety. But want to hear it from my doctor. Since it comes and goes I’m going to tell myself if it were something really bad wouldn’t come and go. Diabetes is something I need to be careful about. Thank you for your reply.

GERD can feel pretty awful, too, I know! You're definitely not alone there either. I also have GERD, and when coupled with anxiety, I can feel particularly awful symptoms. Chest pain/burning, neck/shoulder/back pain, shortness of breath, lightheadedness/dizziness, cough, even fatigue.

Do you have any tricks that help with your gerd?? I’d love to be able to try some. I’m going to be getting anxiety medicine hopefully Monday I know it will take a few weeks to begin to work but I need something. Thank you.

Unfortunately I don't, aside from the traditional recommendations. Dietary changes, lifestyle changes, etc. If I'm careful about what I eat (or how much of it I eat) I'm generally okay, having hardly any issues. When it's mild, I can chew a couple Tums and be fine. When it's more severe/persistent, I just watch what I eat and drink, take Tums as needed, etc.

Something “bad” doesn’t come and go.
It’s persistent and gets worse with time.
Sounds like GERD.

If I don't take proper steps to address the root cause (GERD), then yes. A short while ago I was feeling many of these sensations. A bit lightheaded (presumably because I started feeling anxious), shortness of breath, heart felt like it was pounding, back and chest pain (particularly right behind the sternum) and burning. I chewed a few Tums, and all the sensations almost immediately disappeared. Prior to taking Tums, it lasted a couple hours.
