Hi all

I have had a headache since last Wednesday, a dull constant ache in the temples and front of forehead, nothing gets rid of them, the pai isnt horrific but its just always there.

Obviously google says possible brain tumour, has anyone else experienced persistent headaches? I had my eyes tested recently and all was OK.

Thanks in advance

Yes I get them. I can tell it’s tension from frowning and holding my jaw clenched due to anxiety. Sometimes when I squeeze the back of my neck I get a bit of relief

I’ve had neck and referred head pain now for two months. Also recently had a normal dilated eye exam. Saw a doctor at Mt. Sinai spine clinic in my city yesterday. He said the muscles and joints tense up with many things, too many to mention. Add anxiety to the mix and it can make the glass overflow, and we get headaches, back aches and more. I’m going to attend their 6 week “boot camp” to get treatment, learn exercises and other help.

Yes unfortunately. I've always had hormonal headaches which are painful but go if I take tablets. On two occasions in the last couple years I've had a different type of headache. I wouldnt say it wasn't painful and I could go about my day fine it's just the worry of what the hell is this? My last one lasted 5months. I probably had about 7 days in total during that time that I didn't feel it. Some days it was very intense but mainly just a constant pressure feeling rather than pain. It would move around over the 5months and vary in strength throughout the day. Sometimes temples, sometimes the back of my head, front or literally like a band was around my head putting constant pressure on my skull! Medicines did absolutely nothing because it's not pain? Just like my brain was tense even though I never felt like I was tensing and I certainly felt like I had no control over the tensing. It would be noticeable 95% of the day and did change in how much pressure I felt. The only thing that helped was heat. In the shower it would go and also applying a heat pad to the back of my head. You can get some good ones off Amazon specifically for tension headaches.

One day mine just went. I don't no why my body does it but I seem to have a problem with tense muscles. I'm going through another long stint of what appears to be the same thing but in my legs now. Fibromyalgia is the word I've had thrown around a lot. I hope it's that rather than the other evil stuff Dr Google spews out! I'm getting bloods done soon just to check as I'm sure what causes my headaches and now my leg aches is the same thing. I have struggled with anxiety and stress for 10years and I'm positive that plays it's role too. Hope yours doesn't last too long, try heat and also I went down to a lower pillow at night as all info points to tension in your neck. I never felt this but seems a common factor.

Seems you have the same issues I and so many do. I'm confident your blood tests will be normal. Then you'll be left with the final realization that this is all muscles and perhaps joints. As another poster recently said, it's all connected from the head to the legs and everywhere in between. Over the years I've had muscle pains in my neck, head, rib area, upper chest, both sides but worse on the left, low back pain, quad pain. I've been spared lower leg pain at least.

Like you, they come in waves that last from a few weeks to months. Interestingly, over the counter meds do nothing for the head/neck/chest or low back, but quickly resolves any hip or quad paid. Go figure. I've had all the bloodwork and tests and everything is normal.

I just ride with it now, understanding that I can only stretch, put heat on the area, etc. and wait until it passes.
