Does anyone find themselves having to be strong for yourself and others?

For those with health anxiety do you find you have to be strong for someone who may be going through a worry as well as you struggle with a worry? Like your spouse etc

We always need to be strong for ourselves. No one else can do it for you.

Yes. everyday. Anxiety makes us very selfish because we get in our heads and obsess about what is troubling us and sometimes we can forget to support others. I have two kids and a husband. On my worst days I really have to make an effort.

My partner just had to deal with something that was terrifying to me and I had to be the rational one saying nah it's probably nothing because of X Y and Z. Which was all true stuff I would have said to any of you, but because it was the person closest to me I wanted to just irrationally freak the **** out. (It ended up being something she needs to monitor but isn't a huge red flag at this moment. She's getting a followup in two months. I'll probably be worried then too.)

Yes! I have three young kids and my husband travels a lot for work so these last few weeks have been really hard. I try not to let them see my worry but it’s hard.

Damn you could be talking about me 100%. I take on everyone’s worries, troubles and emotions. Kind of forget about mine until the stress becomes so much the anxiety starts or gets worse. My husband has a very short temper sees everything black or white no grey area lol this can cause a lot of arguments with people and his perspective on things. My children are both disabled spend all my time trying to get them the help they need. Things pile on top of you.

You said what i think as well. I can get very selfish with my anxiety and sometimes i think when i am trying to be strong for others i am selfish there as well(focusing on what ifs about something affecting me)

I'm the same. I need to try harder.
