Lately, I’ve been dizzy when i walk or stand. I know I lay down in bed most of my days but it still concerns me. My mind is screaming something else. I dunno, is this just anxiety?

I've been struggling with I think dizziness for a few weeks. I feel like I have to plant my feet to keep my balance. I keep hurting my back doing housework so I think it might be this. Have you slept awkwardly or hurt your back in any way?

Dizziness was also my first ever anxiety symptom. Before I understood it was anxiety everywhere and anywhere I went would trigger a huge dizzy spell and I was scared it was something awful because I'd never experienced anxiety that caused physical symptoms before. 10 years on now and I can with utter confidence say anxiety causes dizziness. Always good to get a Dr check if you're worried. I find the longer I leave a drs apt the worst my symptom will get. As soon as I'm told it's nothing serious I can work on my anxiety without the niggling thought of what if it's x y z disease.

Anxiety may or may not be the cause. If you lay down or sit most of the time, that can cause dizziness when standing and walking. Sometimes it's more mental than physical, meaning you perceive yourself as feeling off balance. Sometimes it's an inner ear issue (such as fluid on the ear). Sometimes it's BPPV - benign paroxysmal positional vertigo - which can be persistent or intermittent, and often occurs when moving the head certain ways.

I would suggest that there are two major symptoms that can begin anxiety. Palpitations and dizziness. Mine began many years ago with palpitations. If I knew then what I know now I would not have had anxiety. I still get palpitations 50 years on, but have learned to accept them when I am stressed. When tested and told it was anxiety did I believe them? Oh no! I had convinced myself it was something abnormal. I now realise that is health anxiety. If we become anxious an idea can stick in the mind and is difficult to overcome.
But accepting it all without adding more fear is the answer. Allow any emotion to wash over you like a wave but don't react to it with all the 'what ifs'. That increases the anxiety and so begins that downward spiral. Acceptance is about observing in a detached way, be the observer not the victim. Any symptoms of anxiety are not your fault, but are placed upon you by the society in which we live, which is one of anxiety. The secret lies in not adding more fear to the already existing fear by indulging in speculation. Most anxious people are sensitive folk who find all the negativity in the world upsetting, but if we go on in that way chronic anxiety will surely follow. There is not a lot we can do about the world, but we can do a lot to help ourselves.

I ended up in the ER a few weeks ago. I was lying in bed in the early morning and the room began to move and rotate to the left continuously. I felt OK otherwise. It kept on happening when I lied down so I got nervous.I woke my wife up and we drove to the ER and arrived at 6am. They tested me for a stroke, which was negative. The ER physician told me he saw me walking and it not appear I had a stroke. He manipulated my head in a certain way and after 15 minutes the symptoms went away. He said I had BPPV, which is caused by crystals shifting in your ears. I followed up with my ENT physician and he agreed with the BPPV diagnosis. My medical records indicated this happened to me back in 2013 too.
