Hello,I am new here and have been taking meds for GAD for about 20 years. I have been on Cymbalta for about 5 years and finally got put on the 120 mg a day. It took about 2 weeks to really feel like it was working and then bam after a month I start having my same old symptoms irritability, being in my head all the time rethinking everything over and over and very emotional at times, and excessive worry. I am just starting my second 90 day dosage . I just wonder if I have just become immune to Cymbalta even at the max dose.I go to a general practitioner so I really don't know what to ask to do, I really don't know what my med options are. Trying to get a appt with a Psychiatrist in this town is a few months wait. Thanks for reading this, it actually made me feel better explaining it to someone.

Welcome Katz, I also have had GAD for more than 20 years. I use a very good GP for my medications and am very pleased with his knowledge of all of the anxiety/depression meds. I'm currently on lexapro and klonopin. I think perhaps your Cymbalta has outlived its' effectiveness. I would just discuss that possibility with your GP and I'm confident they'll have some sound alternative medication(s) for you.

Thank you for your reply. I hate going thru this turmoil.I think my biggest problem now is depression and guilt. I just got off a 10-day vacation and spent 1/2 of it feeling guilty about doing nothing but wasting it away. I just have no desire, as strange as it sounds I would rather be at work where I know that I will have a specific thing I have to do and will have to stay busy.
