Hi Everyone, I am new to this site but have been reading it for sometime and found it very helpful.

I have long suffered from health anxiety and am still trying to conquer it. My biggest fear is getting leukaemia which feeds into my HA the whole time. Around 6+ weeks ago I knocked the top of my leg quite badly and got a huge, colourful bruise. I am 67 and have noticed in recent years that I only have to knock myself, sometimes not that hard, to get these bruises. It has gradually got better and I thought it had gone but about a week ago I noticed that the skin there still looks stained and I am freaking out because it just doesn't seem to fade and I can't stop looking at it. I feel well otherwise and the last infection I had was a cold nearly a year ago. I recently had a bcc removed from the side of my nose without problems and it seems to be healing up nicely. I did knock myself further down on the same leg a month or so ago but it is difficult to see if this is still 'stained' as it's at a difficult angle just above the back of my knee. I don't appear to have any other bruises anywhere.

I do have a doctor's appointment in just over 2 weeks' time to discuss my health anxiety (I have just transferred to a new surgery and am hoping they can be more helpful than my last) and was going to ask for some blood tests to try and finally overcome my fear of these. I wasn't particularly worried about the bruise when I made the appointment but now it has obviously taken on a scary new significance. I'm a pescatarian and it is possible that I might not be getting enough of certain vitamins and minerals, I just don't know.

Any advice or positivity would be gratefully received. Thanks for reading.
