HELLO THERE! 26 years old here.
Last week while adjusting my hair I noticed my left mastoid process bone is a lot larger and more pointy and my right one is smooth. Is this normal? Anyone else have this problem?
Since then; I can’t stop touching it and comparing both and everyone I see, I look at their ears and nobody else seems to have this problem.
Health anxiety is already awful. Now imagine having this problem. I’m a wreck. Anyone else relate?? Have a doctors appointment 4 weeks from now; which I am dreading. I feel like I’m feeding my HA like this. Anyone else have different size mastoid process bones ? Trying to stay calm until my apt date and if other people relate and it’s “normal” i’ll be able to ease my nerves.

Our bodies aren’t perfect! As much as we’d like them to be some parts and bones are just simply different from their “asymmetrical” counter parts. If you compare your fingers on each hand to each other, you’ll notice minor differences even though each set of fingers has the same function. Same can go for other parts of the body too. :)
