Just read an article on CNN about a recent study that ties stress to developing AFIB which increases your risk for heart attack and stroke. In the article the doctor said symptoms of AFIb is shortness of breath, rapid heart heat, palpitations and chest pain and I have all those on a daily basis :/ this wasn’t a google article it was an actual study done by doctor

Those are all super common anxiety physical symptoms. I get them all the time. And contrary to popular belief, anxiety can actually help your heart health. Because the anxious body is so used to the highs and lows of heart rhythms due to stress, it actually increases your chance of surviving heart attack. Here’s a link to a medical journal explaining why, we’re all gonna be okay champ. :)

Thanks man. I think the scariest symptom for me is the shortness of breath. It’s almost 24-7 for the last few weeks and it’s so uncomfortable. It’s as if there’s a knot in my stomach to go along with that shortness of breath.

I have moments during anxious times and panic attacks where my heart can get up to 190+ bpm and I’m breathing possibly less than five breaths in a minute. It’s scary as can be, but at the end of the day, most of us in this forum have experienced this and can attest to how normal this is for the anxious body. You are so normal in this community it is awesome. Some people get knots in the stomach like you do, some get theirs in their throat, like me. It’s all totally 100% normal, and it’s gonna be okay.

But don’t most people here have these symptoms like shortness of breath come and go? Mine seem to be 24-7

my best bet is to just avoid reading these things online....And NEVER EVER google your symptoms....I have constant spells of dizziness and leg weakness...im just trying to accept everything one by one....just travel along with it....Believe those symptoms can NEVER HARM you...our body isn't just flesh and bones....it is a pinnacle of millions of years of human evolution....how hard anxiety attacks us, rest assured our body will never give up on us and will heal itself.....its just it takes some time....If you feel overwhelmed, just take some day off from your work and try to get some rest.....

It does sound like you're experiencing classic anxiety symptoms. I know everyone is different, but I've had an episode of afib before and that shhh was no joke! You know the heart palpitations that feel like a skipped beat followed by a thud? It felt just like that, only it didn't stop. It was literally like having nonstop palpitations. I also didn't experience any chest pain or shortness of breath - just the very obvious irregular rhythm.
