HOPE AND HELP FOR YOUR NERVES BY DR CLAIRE WEEKES..

This book helped me a LOT years ago with health anxiety and my tensed nerves.. It helped me get through horrible panic and anxiety issues, especially health anxiety. I am still tensed up but my anxiety is MUCH better. I refer to this book from time to time. I have a hard copy and I just purchased it on my Kindle a few months ago. I am not saying it will make your anxiety/panic attacks go away but it will explain what is going on in your body and you may can deal with it a little better.

I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!

I've read this book and it does explain a lot. Unfortunately nothing seems to help me get any better but this book is a great one!

Sorry to hear nothing is helping. Have you tried therapy? That book got me on the road to feeling a lot better. However, I still have my days due to so much built up tension.. but I just deal with it the best I can.. a glass of wine, a good movie, stretching a little bit of yoga..not much though..lol. Hope you find something that helps.

Comments made on this tread show that self help books can help. However, if you're dealing with serious mental health issues, I would recommend reading self help books in combination with psychotherapy.

I agree. The book helped a lot and therapy helped a lot as well. But the book got me on the path of getting better. As I have mentioned, the book itself was not a cure all.. but for me, it helped a LOT.
