Okay, new thread - what TV shows would you recommend for when someone is struggling with anxiety? :) For example, I remember having a hard time once, and a friend told me to watch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix. It was so ridiculous that it cheered me up quite a bit. I need something to binge over the next few days...

We watch an episode of "Mom" each night that we've recorded before going to sleep. Another show we regularly watch and record is "Get Shorty". Otherwise I'm a cable news junky. Watch that crap everyday, all day with the laptop in front of me.

See, I don't have cable! Just streaming...I've heard Get Shorty is good - I think it's on Netflix now so maybe I'll check that out. Thanks!

H&h, try binge watching something from your childhood, and preferably something with multiple seasons. It sure helps me. It gives me a feeling of security and relaxation in a weird way. I guess because it is from a happier time in my life :)

Thanks! :) I like medical shows, too - but I don't really have health anxiety. I just like how everything gets figured out perfectly on House - lol! It's always solved. Always under control somehow. ;)

I personally don't believe that all anxiety symptoms are JUST from the mind. There have been many studies in recent years that suggest that anxiety and particularly trauma are actually stored in our bodies on the cellular level. Check out some of the work of Dr. Peter Levine - has some YouTube videos that explain how trauma can essentially lock people in fear responses.

This is one of my favorite short explanations on how anxiety and panic work in the brain, too - see what you think:

Hi guitarman. I'm sorry but this forum banned binge watching of the Partridge Family back in 2016. I'm of the opinion that what someone does in the privacy of their home that doesn't effect others is nobody else's business. So from my standpoint, just do what you gotta do, but I wouldn't bring that show up again here. The rest of them are all good.

That's too bad Tri, i hate to hear that! This site is gonna miss out on some GREAT acting because of that! :)
I suppose the "bugaloos" are banned as well? :)
Where will it all end? Next it will be anti land of the lost rules! Lol

Don't bring up Honey Boo-Boo for binge watching. That was banned early last year. Like I explained in my last post, I think the moderators are being overly protective of us.

Last night we watched the episode where Johnny believes he hears the voice of God. It had typical 'KRP laughs, but also had a touching scene between Johnny & the Big Guy. I always liked that 'KRP was good at balancing laughs with nice storylines.. It's one of my all-time favorite sitcoms.
Remember the episode where they played a rival station in softball (?) I think it was WPIG..

I loved that God episode he-man! I just watched the softball episode the other night, my fav episode! The part where Les is praying to not have the ball hit to him always has me rolling on the floor!
Great sitcom, not too many like that nowadays!

Okay, I don't know you @guitarman65 , but I think we would be great firends. :D This is a FANTASTIC list. But where can you binge watch this stuff??? I guess I'd have to buy on Amazon or something? We do mostly Netflix in my house, but I'm really missing some of these classics, too....Also loved Mary Tyler Moore show - I used to watch it on Nick at Nite when I was in high school in the 90's. Good times....

Oh goodness - I'd have to be in a LOT more pain than I am now to stand watching Honey Boo-Boo. lol
