My wife a week or so started having pins and needles in feet, sometimes hands...we thought sugar, maybe a nerve damage of some sort. She is going to have doc talk to her about sugar next week.

A little while ago she said tounge felt similar and even stomach felt itchy.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Pins/needles/itchy/burn type feeling.

If she's diabetic, that's probably it. Could also be stress, though, I get that sometimes for basically no reason at all.

Seems no diabetes. If happens seems to be common when hands are in cold water or the other day near an ac. Painful, pins needles burn type feeling, sometimes stiffens then fades away. She thinks possible rheumatoid arthritis

I definitely get pins and needles, mostly in my hands. It's a common thing with anxiety, something to do with the vitamins/minerals being drawn away from the extremities to more important functions. When I get stressed out my mouth gets dry and my stomach starts churning, but I wouldn't doubt that anxiety can cause itchy feelings there as well. Anxiety causes all sorts of weird things...

Have you talked to the doctor about sugar or RA yet?

She had the sugar test and all looks good. She is thinking arthritis of some kind.

I went through exactly same sensations less than a year ago and got all blood tests, all were normal.
My dr decided that it's because of too much stress. Since he knows I have anxiety issues and mild depression.
I mentioned to him that I got shingles just 2 months prior to pins and needles, but he didn't make a connection.
After a while those sensations disappeared.
