Hi, after a forever of struggling, and googling "help stop my thoughts", I've decided perhaps I just need to be able to chat with people going through the same thing.
I've always had terrible anxiety, rumination is probably my worst habit. For the latter half of this year I've found myself spiralling further in to panic than I ever used to. I'm sure it's just the effect of the pandemic that's enough to wobble even the steadiest of souls. Keep telling myself that this too will pass.

Welcome to the forum. Make yourself at home. We all suffer from one thing or another. So you are never alone.

Thank you Cuchculan, I see the forum is fairly quiet. But it seems a good place none the less.

It can be quiet at times. Might be the time of year. People with their families and the likes. At other times we get loads of posts every day. Just keep doing what you are doing. Always the same few names knocking about the place most days.

Hi. Nutmeg. Welcome. as Cuchculan says, it does vary a lot as to who is on here. But always someone will answer you. Great bunch of guys on here because we all know and have been there. Rumination is another form of introspection. We all do it and it can cause problems. Once again I see the word 'struggle'. To struggle and fight the symptoms is counter productive. Give up the struggle!!! The natural tendency is to fight it off, but we need do just the opposite. Give in to 'IT'. NOT give up, that's entirely different. By giving in and allowing it to come you lessen the stress. Panic or any symptom always passes if we allow it to without adding second fear. The 'OMG's' and the 'what ifs' Need I say again the folly of Googling!!! It just puts the frighteners on you and makes things worse.
Stay with us, and I am sure you will derive a lot of comfort being on here.
